Nobody seems to have mentioned it but it seems highly probable (Especially given that a certain beloved commander was seen in online in solo earlier today) that the ship which shot down and killed Salome Loren was modded with these rolls.....

I think someone mentioned it earlier. It's just been buried under dozens of pages of rejoicing.

So the toxic part of the community might actually rage quit? Oh noes.

No doubt it b/c Frontier just removed their engineer rolls not the grades they have already unlocked. So, I'm sure they are already gathering ingredients for rolls and will be back griefing in a week or so ... Interestingly, I flew in Open last night and found my CMDRs in Mobius - had to switch to Open to land on an outpost ;)

Looking forwards their mindset wont allow for keeping a decent roll with maybe a few more tries to see if it can be improved. The grind they'll inflict on themselves trying to god-roll everything at full cost is the harshest part of this punishment.

I reckon griefers are not much different to trolls - difficult to change their mindsets. Yesterday heard on the radio about a study into the reasons for trolls and majority of them do it b/c they find it entertaining ... for themselves :(

In this case we're talking about the players with the most pvp experience in the game, who would still be flying meta ships and could roll at least average G5 mods in relatively little time. Seriously, they would still be able to rinse anybody who hasn't spent significant time doing pvp. That's the dumbest aspect of this pseudo-rage really, if they all just played the game, rolled their mods wthout spending ridiculous amounts of time grinding and got on with it they'd be in exactly the same position as they were yesterday; competitive with each other and considerably better than most. If that's not enough for them, there's no helping them.

This right here. These are already mainly veteran pilots because they fly against other humans all the time, far and above the chance or sometimes encounters with other pilots in an Open PVE experience. Taking away a weaponset doesn't make them lose their piloting skill, just one of their coolest toyboxes. They'll be mad or indifferent or prepared, but they'll still be back in business once they get back from some Engi missions. There's a technical fighting parity restored in terms of what's available to all from the space arsenal, certainly, but sheer flight time against live pilots still counts a great deal.

And yeah, the only real difference to these guys a month from now is that their G5 Engikit selection has been locked down to regularly available channels after their naughties were taken away. Unless some other thing or five is out there, still seekritly used by the worst of the best. I guess Lance Armstrong has stayed a role model his entire life for some folks. >____> If they're sad they got busted, they should count themselves lucky it wasn't something super harsh like a player wipe. That would take a lot more recovery time on Ye Olden Sticke and Peddles if it didn't just QQ them out of the game. This is a big newspaper smack, not an eviction. Could have been though.

Oh well? Drew would have been demolished either way.

All this "re-do Salome event" talk is ridiculous. Please get over it. Poor piloting skills by Mr. Wagar killed Salome, not 10% better weapons and thrusters and FSD interdictors and etc etc

I saw comments on Discord saying that Potter has basically had all his ships wiped. What a hero.

I've worked damn hard to unlock all the Engineers and fully upgrade all 8 ships in my fleet. I've felt pretty rewarded by the outcome, generally like the Engineering process and didn't have to cheat to get there.

If you take how significant the difference is between an Engineered and non Engineered ship is, and then add that to the greifing and gangking that can then come out of that kind of advantage, I find myself fully supporting the action that Frontier have taken.

Moreover, I find it even more surprising that the culprits feel they have the right to complain over the decision ...?
