FD & PS4 players, you should be aware that attempts are being made to sabotage launch.

I think you slightly underestimate what a tightly coordinated group can do when they have a little free reign to do it in. Especially when everyone else isn't that tight.

No, I don't at all. I think far too many people OVERESTIMATE what a tightly coordinated group can do. This is a computer game we are talking about here remember. We'll soon find out on Tuesday though, eh?

No need to shout. They've a bit of a track record, you see. If you want to be an apologist for them, good luck, certainly in light of recent events. They could do with good PR actually.

Yes, it's a computer game, exactly. Anyways yes you will see for yourself won't you, and not necessarily Tuesday.

To add, keep in mind when the Parents (FDev) say, playtime is over.. It is over!

It is sad all this drama build up just before launch....

Ok, thank you I can feel my blood pressure coming down a bit now. At least there are a few other insane/sane people around, whichever I am =]

It's been nothing BUT but (whoops, better bold I get told off for shouting) drama ever since it was announced for PS4. Actually playing is going to be rather dull by comparison I feel now :-S

tbh I had always planned on heading immediately out of the 'newbie' systems and do missions etc a good distance away.
I have a strange feeling that 'some' PS4 players will play as its a space shooter and nothing else, so I'm getting my backside out of dodge city asap! lol

I think once you get in the cockpit, all the stress will roll off ya.....

Looking at my status: Expected Auto-Downloaded Date: 06/24/2017, no time mentioned. My luck, probably 23:59:59 :(

So close...

Ouch, fair enough :S

How would they go about something like that? Flooding the market or something like hostile action in the area? The whole shared galaxy thing intrigues me as I've no experience of it yet.

Before I start typing what little I know - I'm only occasionally dabbling in it and let wiser people in my group tell me what to do - I'll link you to one of the experts on the BGS.

There's one more thing that isn't directly mentioned on the first page of that thread: UA bombing. You'll run into it sooner or later, so I might as well tell you how it works.
The arrival of the aliens (now confirmed as Thargoids) was preceded by two, at a first glance unconnected, appearances: Unknown Artefacts (UA for short) and Barnacles.
UAs can be collected with a cargo scoop (like any other kind of flying debris), but if you have them on board of your ship, you'll notice that your ship will get damaged. The ship's computer will recognize it as "corrosive cargo". Try to hold on to one for some time, and you'll find e.g. your cargo hatch deteriorating to a point where it won't stay shut any more, and the UA will drop out again. They have a similar effect on a station. Drop enough UAs on a station (i.e. sell them on the Black Market - no station will buy them willingly), and some or all station services will shut down. The only known cure at this time is to supply the station with Meta-Alloys, which you can harvest from ripe Barnacles. The vaccination would be to push the system/station into a state where the Black Market is shut down (supposedly possible - I have no idea how, but maybe you can find a few hints in the "liberate rares" thread).

This sort of action is only as effective as you let it be. You can avoid it by playing in solo. Even if you play in open you'll have to be in a system that attracts players and you'll have to be instanced with the bad guys and gals.

They are related to tribbles.

You cannot avoid BGS effects in solo.

I say, call in the Fuel Rats, call in the 5th Fleet, the Children of Raxxla, everyone who isn't part of this silly gambit for attention, and have them play the starter systems in a way that will prevent a lockdown. Problem solved!

Pretty much everything has been discussed somewhere in this forum before :)

No, this is a quite obviously unique issue isn't it or did I miss a prior PS4 launch of the game where a group were planning on sabotaging said launch? it would have been good for you to have read even the first page of posts before throwing your oar in with absolutely no good input.

Fair point, why should those who have played the game know anything about it?
