Um, that's a pretty cool and fair challenge the OP put up and a nice one in light of the removal of cheated mods from the game.
Awesome fight! His hull tank must be cheat free acquired god rolls! That was insane armour. Really enjoyed watching that. My internet is out and I'm getting jealous watching!
Trent's fight was good as well, though more technical and less spectacular to watch. Way out of my league though. If I get my connection up and running again I'm definitely heading over for some flying lessons.
Well done, appears to be a proper gentlemen's fight. I'm about 7kly away and even my best loadout is compromised, but I could do with some lessons too.
CMDR Urion, are you using a head/eye tracker?
I saw an opportunity to leverage about a fifth of my cash savings into some rare guaranteed fair fights while the cheaters either quit or have to spend the time to re-engineer.
I don't do much Combat, but does untargeting give an advantage, or is that just a frequent fat-fingering of the key? Is there a delay in player ship status that necessitates frequent targeting to force an update?

It gives an advantage to the enemy
No, seriously - what is happening here is that CMDR Smooticus is engaging silent running, since his(?) shields are down anyway. You may be able to see it (noticed it only once myself) in one turn, where you can clearly see the heat vents on the back of the FxS glowing bright orange, then going off apruptly. This will break the target lock (if you're lucky) of any tracking-assisted weapons - if you're sufficiently far away.
But as long as your opponent is using fixed weapons and you're dogfighting on close range and on sight anyways, it doesn't make much of a difference.
CMDR Archon Fury in his "Sidey versus the Galaxy" videos occasionally shows (and explains) this from the other perspective.
@CMDR Urion & Smooticus: if Urion had died not due to further damage but simply from running out of oxygen, would that have constituted a valid and/or honorable win?
P.S: I sit corrected: just watched the fight against CMDR Eent Tredison - Urion is actually switching targeting around when he doesn't need it. No idea why, though.
He's being hit with Target Lock Breaker effect. Very popular choice on the Plasmas.
