Em guys... Are you 100% sure that you solved this one? I mean..

http://rsln.net/random/data-anim-hires.gif

Cause before this day we never actually know that on this picture we have

1 UL

2 UA

1 UP

Are you sure it is al done RIGHT?

Well, I count 1x UL, 1x UP, 1x UA and 1x something still unknown (I--). There's a theory on FP that I-- and --I are just distance markings, but this seems to be wrong in the light of the new map, as it uses the --I code as well. The code itself could be either binary or octal. AFAIK octal is what the UP used internally. In binary, I-- would mean '4'.

I'm convinced the diagram could help us to find the "right hand" system that the UP were obviously tasked with, but I can't figure out how. The symbols on both maps are the same. Note the hollow dot in the centre of the circle, it seems to be the same as the top one in the new spectrogram (the Thargoid plane, station, whatever), whereas the bottom circle seems to be filled (hard to make out, though). I can't make anything of the lines and angles, but they seem to point somewhere. And so on.

Just too tired right now,
[noob]

It's a bit too RNG if you ask me. I just now finally got one, 3 and half hours later. I think I memorized the planet just from staring at it so long.
I agree.
I hope the next few patchs of core gameplay fix this.

RNG is needed to emulate what can not be simulated , but maybe more conditions and checks to narrow down the types of USSs could be cool. or even special scanners that can help.

I dont think we want finding things to be too easy , but we dont want to be looking for something and it being just down to pure luck.

Maybe having some USSs being way bigger with more things to see and do. (make them a few mins worth of gameplay rather than seconds)

Did anyone happen to find an object called "unknown biological matter"? tried to grab it but its corroding my sistems faster than i can come back i think.

[I--] = 4 = Unknown Device = that big map thing that got activated

filled circle = objective complete
hollow circle = next objective

This is a set of instructions. FOR HUMANS TO FOLLOW.

Just logged back in at the structure and noticed a nav panel entry for it. Is that now visible because I've already visited it, or has something changed to make them appear on panel?

Never noticed it before I logged out this morning.

I've found two systems that are equidistant to the 3 candidate systems (Merope, HIP 14909 and Col 70 Sector FY-N c21-3) that, between them, are 3 and 2 units (~748,39ly) apart.

LY Aurigae (2U)
Swoilz FA-A b59-0 (3U)

Another set of candidates are (the unit, in this case, is ~227ly):
Synuefe TV-X b20-0 (2U)
Synuefe BU-X b47-4 (3U)

This is a stab in the dark - if anyone thinks it's three different base systems and also thinks that the curves over the systems and above the lower circle means think it means distances drop me a line and I'll crunch the numbers really quick.

2 waves = the base distance = the "U"
3 waves = 1.5 x U

Can you locate a system that is 3U/2 LY from the three base systems (COL 70, Merope, HIP 14909)?

You probably scanned the Unknown Structure data point in the unknown structure (I did - last time I visited I did not get in the structure and did not get the waypoint)

Not been inside yet, but I was able to target the unknown device from outside and scan it, so maybe that was it.
