The $200 Million Maia 1v1 Challenge!

Maybe you are not be the best pilot of your franchise (dunno because I rarely engage in PvP), but you are by far the best PLAYER among them. Kudos to you for that and good luck for the next fights.

P.S.: your Track IR settings are really awesome. As a new owner of the device I am amazed by your effectiveness. Maybe you can share your settings?

Again fight hard the next few days!

Thanks, Kvochur. And no, I'm definitely not even close to the best combat pilot in SDC. The veterans of the group outclass me by miles: Pipko, John Raanes, Rinzler, Sundae, Harry Potter, SmokeWeez, etc. I'm just a long time experienced pvper who is effective enough in wing combat to be part of what I and many others consider the best combat group in the game.

That being said, I've intentionally chosen to stick with a weapons loadout that is very challenging to be successful at in 1v1 situations. I'd stand a much better chance with no self imposed weapon restrictions, like throwing some gimballed weapons into the mix (the only time I had a 1v1 and won against with a senior SDC guy was by using full gimballed multicannons). Even using the standard pvp FDL loadout of three PAs and two rails (one cascade, one super pen) would have given me a better edge. But the whole point of the challenge is that I WANT to give away the whole 200 mil credits and encourage all kinds of players to throw their hat into the ring with a real shot at winning. That vulture who just won Round 5 told me before the fight that it was his first pvp fight, and I was happy to give him an all out rumble for his first win. I knew the fight was over when the canopy went...I should not have kept facing him after my canopy was one shot away from breaking. Hitting a vulture with PAs is hard enough as it is; try doing it with no leading indicator. Another reason to ditch the hull tank FDL concept entirely after this is over.

Oh, and I'll check the specific TrackIR settings later when I have access to my PC, but in general it's the "Smooth" preset with the sensitivity cranked up a bit (the horizontal sliders; not the area where you control the individual axis adjustments) so there isn't much deadzone in the middle. Feels more real that way.

First class idea and some great fitan, CMDR. This is entertaining stuff. It's not a focus of my gaming here by any stretch but it's good for the community as a whole to see some positivity around pvp combat, and also some of the players who are in it for the love of the fighting instead of winning at all costs in a toy-collection contest. o7

Yeah, all the guys you mentioned are awesome. I think the only one I haven't fought multiple times on that list is Pipko. You didn't mention Oddisee, isn't he SDC? That guy's a g madman.

Also, kudos for sticking around after the canopy blew; that's basically game over with PA's, fighting something zippy and angry like a Vulture

Does this challenge already ended?

I want to give a go ;)

I'm close to maia, so we can schedule something. If you have me as a challenger OFC...

I'm almost willing to try just to receive an epic beating.

I'm definitely interested as well. Just have to make my way over to Maia. Also have to decide what ship to use and hope the timing works out.
For Maximum fun, I'm thinking the FGS, even though it's probably not the best matchup for me.
