This would also explain why the Ancient Relic event goes on for ~5 minutes. I think we need to get a full recording of the event and get it transcribed.
(The speed of the video has been slowed down a bit as I was messing around with the footage in Premiere Pro).
EDIT: If it's not Morse code, then it might be some other type of pattern. Doesn't look random though...
I wondered if it poimted to sol.. but then thought no no... to scary.
I also thought at one point.... originally thought the picture had sol in the bottom right.... due to 9 objects, but then noticed two planet next to each other ...... so I change mind.
I considered Sol for the right system on the spectagram too. If you discount that rings aren't shown, the planet count could actually be correct and this would put particular importance on potentially one moon of Jupiter being shown. However, the relative size of the planetary bodies would make no sense whatsoever. Still maybe worth a flyby of Jupiter. Unfortunately I don't have the Sol permit yet.
I just have this one for now, from yesterday. I think it was the first one.
To me it does look like there is a pattern to the flashes.
The Lave Radio video from yesterday has the entire sequence I think - I don't have the link to hand right now but it was posted earlier on this thread.
Seems like CMDRs are all getting the same messages (at least in the recordings I've heard) regardless of where they are. The messages are different depending on which spectrogram recording was played to the UL, but the differences are not large. The message played by the UL in response to the oldest spectrogram recording (on the bottom of the list) is:

Yeah that of course doesn't make any sense. I mean they could be using something like a morse code, but the meaning of long, long, short or whatever would be completely different. Unless they studied our morse code and the messages were meant for us. But then again, why not just talk in English if they studied us. It's probably done on purpose by FD because if they would use a completely made up alien language or codes, we couldn't possibly understand it.
I'm unable to make up the pattern, if there is one, it doesn't seem to be cyclic.
But the test I would suggest to do: we need to do the "defense activation" of the base while other commanders are outside. If this is a real defense mechanism, or a way of sending a MAYDAY, logic tells me that there should be a huge reaction in the outside of the base as well.
The first recording you posted from Pleaides Sector BL-X C-17 (haven't listened to this one yet) is NOT THE SAME as the one posted by ARelientOwl. It reads:

Well the first place you always go after an update is the Pleiades, Maia and Merope generally, and then you just look. Things generally register when you get within 1,000 Ls of them.
CONCLUSION: IT SEEMS TO ME THAT, WHILE MESSAGE 2 ARE ALL THE SAME, 1 AND 3 ARE SOMETIME FLIPPED: SIMPLE ANSWER, THEY ARE STORED IN TWO DIFFERENT ORDERS IN OUR MAILBOX. I TEND TO THINK THAT THE 3 MESSAGES ARE THE SAME, AND DO NOT CHANGE WITH LOCATION.
That's interesting, because we have 3 data: good for a triangulation?
He said he just released a video... go ccheck it there
3 different bearing from I dunno, say Merope? if the 1st 2 describe angular bearings on x and y and the 3rd describes distance would that work? They should make a 3 some of pretty close systems...maybe a search area?

I have a permit to sol. I can pass Jupiter, I did notice the size of the outer planet Pluto for example. The chart shows a large object, as we know it isn't. Which is why I thought no I must be wrong. If if visited and checked out Jupiter what I'm I looking for, a probe?

Wasn't it already reported that nothing is happening on the outside? And maybe pattern was the wrong word. Maybe there is no repeating cycle and there is just one whole sequence and 1 message. But you have to agree that you can easily see and make out long and short flashes which may or may not translate to morse code. I don't know morse code so I can't check myself.
