I took a look at Planet 3B back then but didnt find anything, wasnt at Bhadaba still... argh this realy needs to slow down a bit ^^

Hopefully I'll have time to play tonight, I'm literally parked about 5 mins from the new base lol. It'll be a quick trip at least and a UA will be easy to source before getting there. Anything new about it I should know? I know it may be too much to explain so if it is I understand. But I don't follow how people are finding sound files and coordinance? Would be good info to have so I can contribute more than just brute force searching the planets.
Theory: We know that the ULs encode data for a destination system / planet / base, and we are using this information to find them. What if the UL is also used by the thargoids for this purpose, as a navigation mechanism?
Thargoid ship(s) obtain nav data from site > use UL to visit next site(s) > repeat process for additional systems.
Since we're coming at this from the past, we would be finding previously used sites while the thargoid ship(s) had moved on to additional systems. This would explain the thargoid ships in the spectragram. If the UL audio encodes at these sites do lead to additional systems, we may be following the chain of systems to the current thargoid ship(s) location.

Starting to suspect that if we follow these sites they will be in a large 2 armed spiral.

Careful now this isn't Elite '84 we can't go to Galaxy 8..... that said is it time maybe we start dusting off the inter-galaxy drive? Does that sort of thing even exist in ED?
Now... given what you just said you could interpret the top and bottom circles from meaning: Bottom circle = Milky Way... using Merope and other systems to amplify a carrier beam signal to another galaxy where our flower friends are waiting?

Someone had mentioned that perhaps the map is of a dwarf galaxy. Personally I think it looks like andromeda, BUT there IS a dwarf galaxy in the game already. It's just that they are outside the map and you can't select them. They're the PSR system. Type it in the search box and it'll take you there but the stars disappear.
Wace's calculations look solid to me. The error margins are tiny using HIP 14909 with the Signals from that site.
Check the Large Wreck info link in my sig - lots of info about what's going on (and links to interesting posts where needed). I think we're still waiting to see if it points elsewhere, or just back to where we came from.
