Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

Based on the info on the Canonn spreadsheet the linkages between sites are far from well known.

Apologies if I've missed it but what defines an active vs inactive site? I've been to an active and now at Aries Dark REgion DB-X d1-63 which is listed as inactive and it's crawling with scavangers, making all the noises etc. I can see an Unknown Uplink Device inside but lost my UA when destroyed by a CMDR previously (must go get one), so can't open the door.

An active site is one that has access to the central chamber where you put the UA, UL and UP in the "bowls" to get the starmap and recordings

A triangle (was a square yesterday) of red dots and a cluster of green dots. Assuming red was the frontline, green is where they came from. Witchhead Nebula.

O7,
[noob]

The sites I listed are all relativly close in relation to the galactic plane. maybe 10 to 20 ly up or down instead of the 80 to hundred down or so.

that would have been me :)
Since I changed from 4d (orca) lightweight 5 (4 spawns/h) to 5A wide angle m,y spawn rate is up to 8-10/h

Cool thanks, I got the wide angle scanner and have found 2 up's in half an hour. And that's with a 15 minute pizza break!

I noticed i didn't get a hit on this one as well.

Did you get a hit on an 18 site?

Right so....

Activate machine
Gain 3 signals
Take UL into space
Play signal
Hope you get a direction

Rinse and repeat until you find a base....is that right?

Just checked out Synuefe GI-R b37-1. It only has two stars, no planets.

What's the general opinions n of the star map being a map of the locations of these wrecks? (If it is, good lord there are a ton) if that is the case there should be narrowing bands that have a denser rate of them as you go towards the Galactic center. Anyone out that way that can dedicate from time looking in a likely area for these bands to exist? If not I may take the trip myself just to see. Will need better FSD mod tho. Only getting like 32 in my AspX currently although I'm sure I could boost that a bit by stripping some things out

yup. But i wouldnt be bugged if they wouldnt have changed something within the cap ship code. Maybe they added a thargoid cap ship?

I noticed i didn't get a hit on this one as well.
So we have the same result, that's good in some way.

Did you get a hit on an 18 site?
You mean this ?:

(0.09, 0.079, 0.945) => Pleiades Sector KM-W d1-40 (Average error 0.015 %) - NEW !
(0.163, 0.03, 0.935) => HIP 15443 (Average error 0.025 %) - Site 19
(0.169, 0.036, 0.944) => Synuefe AR-U b35-1 (Average error 0.621 %) - Actual system: HIP 14746 (it's not on EDDB), yes i did a manual search ") - NEW ! HIP 14746 !!!

No system in immediate vincinity of Synuefe GI-R b37-1 as far as I can see on the GalMap.

Each distance triplet has 2 different intersection points. Could be the correct system is next to the other intersection point and b37-1 is on the wrong one. I'll have a look at this quickly - once I try another fix at the hanging server issue.

I managed to get away from real life and visit the sites.

First, I need to subscribe to the theory that the scavengers are removing an infection, maybe the mycoid virus.
Second, I found something interesting: While flying towards a site I found an ANOMALOUS SIGNAL, THREAD 4. I jumped into it and found that it was just an Unknown Artifact. Is it normal that it shows as thread 4?

Any idea why FD would call them scavengers then and not say....maintainers? Is it the old FD double bluffero?

So far my theory that every site has an ammonia related world in its system seems to hold up.

I've visited 11 active sites of which eight had an gas giant with ammonia based life. The other three systems had ammonia worlds.

Only one of the sites was in orbit of those, all sites were moons.

The systems I checked were:
MEL 22 Sector TT-R C4-2
MEL 22 Sector MX-U D2-14
MEL 22 Sector KC-V D2-28
HIP 16985
HIP 14909
MEL 22 Sector ZU-P C5-1
MEL 22 Sector NX-U D2-31
MEL 22 Sector NX-U D2-27
MEL 22 Sector UT-R C4-4
MEL 22 Sector YU-F B11-1
MEL 22 Sector UE-G B11-0

I would greatly appreciate if people could report whether there is an ammonia gas giant (I've dubbed them that for abbreviation reasons) or an ammonia world when they discover a new site. :)

And now I'm off to play Warhammer 40k. To practice shredding Xenos. xD
