Trump doesn't actually write those books. He talks to someone, who makes notes, and then tries to use those notes to create a decent book, then when that book is written they put Donald Trumps name on it in order to sell it.
I was going to respond to that surprising and fact-free post, but you seem to have covered it.
There were highlights I'd have liked to mention, like the unique accusation that
Trump knows Facts.
(That one was so good.)
Vox goes through the sordid feud.

I do believe it was you that predicted that?
I did, but it was Jeremy Cliffe (I think) who first mentioned that Merkel was gaining politically from bashing Trump in Germany. Then her main political rival (Martin Schulz) also started, ironically leaping to her defense. As we've seen from Macron, standing up to Trump is a superb way to make oneself look like an international statesman.
The only international leaders Trump appears to have on his side at this point are Vladimir Putin, Erdogan of Turkey, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, and Theresa May (yeah the UK are in good company there). Of these nations only the UK is actually likely to have the interests of the USA in mind when Washington needs something, the "friendship" of the others is worse than useless.
Whether one hates or loves Obama one can't deny that he was very popular internationally, and completely reversed the damage done by GW Bush to the international reputation of the USA. In a globalized world having your leader carry weight in other countries is an extremely valuable asset.
This asset has been sacrificed. And why? It wasn't sacrificed for necessary defense, to preserve US economic interests, or to help a single American achieve something necessary. It was sacrificed because Donald Trumps ego couldn't be contained. Never before has so much been sacrificed for so little in return.
