Ok....

Operation Icarus is underway.

With many cmdrs out there chasing the alien site breadcrumb trail I've taken it up myself to take off in my Type 7 "Icarus".
With this expedition I aim to retrieve as many ancient ruins objects as possible and then run experiments on the Prometheus machine.

Taking into account the previous experiments done so far, I will test all possible configurations using ONLY guardian artifacts. I'm not sure what I am looking to find, if anything.
But even if I don't find any new developments at least then it's one less thing to wonder about and we can then scratch it off the list.

Is there anyone directly I can contact from Canonn that has the ability to change/add new data to the spreadsheet upon completion of this task?

Hey folks,

I'm reposting this here on the advice of a helpful member- this might be most suitable to be posted here - I'm not sure if this is anything you guys have picked up on.

I am not sure if this amounts to anything and if it does, I am not sure if it has already been covered as there's lots of talk on so many threads/sites about the recent discoveries.

I was in HIP 19026 looking at the dead base/ship and it got me wondering about the roof of the structure and how it is aligned to the gas giant. Has anyone noticed this? - I'm sure this is old news but I just wanted to check just in case. I noticed this whilst in my SRV so I jumped in my asp and flew to the roof to look up and it matches exactly with the gas giant. I am not sure if this is coincidence based on the time I was on the planet and maybe its orbit just happened to match up with the time I was there. So curiously, I wondered if this moon is tidally locked to the gas giant and IT IS!!!! ..[alien][where is it][alien]

Could this mean something? or just all coincidence?

Excellent observation! No, I don't believe it has been noticed before.

As the other poster mentioned, I do believe that all or most of the sites are on tidally locked moons - at least from my observations.

I got lots of modular terminals a week or so ago when ranking up with feds. Do a round robin of data deliveries Ceos-Sothis (main station then outpost)-Ceos, or you can do same for Imps if you want to rank with them.

so who do we prefer to sell Unknown Items to? Canonn (do we really want to risk corrosion damage to that nice shiny new megaship?) or Palin (who took lots of alien data and MAs & never delivered much despite megapromises)? We only have Palin's word that the Feds stole the data from him, I do not trust him! But we should get them to some engineer who can start to work on them & move towards protective and offensive capabilities, Martuk? Farseer?

Well the way I'm thinking - and I preface this by saying I'm not an official voice for the Canonn Council right now after my lengthy absence - but it seems to me that if there are more adverse side effects to be discovered from all this new 'Unknown X' stuff, then it seems reasonable that a faction like the Canonn should fall victim to it first, given the CANONN INSTITUTE in COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 and THE GNOSIS IN VARATI basically spend their whole time studying this stuff.

Y'know, like - and I don't know if any FD big cheeses are still reading this thread - but, well, y'know, if it helps the story and all that...

Good shout. Yeah - Please sell any objects you may find during your investigations of the new alien site at Canonn Institute in Col 285 Sector IX-T D3-43 for further study! But do not sell UAs so as to not pollute the testing.

You only need the invite from Palin to be able to get the CRCR. They're from outfitting in his base so all you need to be able to do is go to the base. No need to collect UFs and unlock him.

3a) We've seen Guardian tech illicit a response from the unknown device - what about unknown objects giving a different result at a Guardian site?

I tried. Put a UP and UA in my Srv and scanned an active obelisk, only got the message from Ram Tah that it was an invalid combination. Not sure if different obelisks would react differently though.

If you've got an AI relic or any other exotic and could try those too that would be awesome.

I have tried a soontill relic but the machine did not accept it just bounced out the hole.

With the UA and UP already being around when the Guardian stuff started, they've already been tried by quite a few people IIRC. Probably best to concentrate on the new items.

I tried soontil's a while ago. They don't open doors and they don't go in the machine. At least for me anyway there's always the possibility of human error.

Maybe we can provoke a response when we deliberately block the light from the celestial object the wreck site is pointing at?
