Today i fought off a vulture interdiction in my Anaconda.....A few seconds in the circle gave me 4 bars. I deliberately spent a good 30 seconds avoiding the circle as far as i could and all that did was stop me gaining more bars, i didn't lose any and he didn't gain any. He was also Elite...
TL;DR not at all worried, looking forward to an actual challenge in the Universe.

flying around in my Cutter is like taking a nap. With 8A shields and thermal resistance G5? An Anaconda can unload on me forever and I lose like 1 ring.
I'm just hoping it's like bubble shattering when they show up. I want failing governments and space stations in ruins. I want total apocalypse.
Nope, NPCs were nerfed before because of difficulty complaints, so I don't expect the Thargoids to be an issue against the right combat ship.

I would love it if there were a "first contact community goal". Thousands of commanders gather to meet the aliens at Sol. They arrive, the screen shakes, a thargoid planet crusher arrives in each and every instance.
They are not friendly. OUR WEAPONS CANNOT HURT THEM...SDC and AA working together manage to damage one slightly before they are wiped out by hordes of thargoid fighters...rebuys all around. New rallying cry: remember the massacre of Sol!
