Dear community goal creator ...

... can you please stop to place the (only) CG(s) at the VERY DAMN EDGE of the human bubble?
Jump-scoop(-scan) isn't really the most entertaining part of the game ... let alone spending millions of credits alone to get my frickin' ship(s) there.
But it's also the point that I have to get in a vessel with a decent jumprange and even though a 35 LY average on my taxi ships is convenient it is still INSANELY ANNOYING to get my ship's booty over to the damn blue nebular near MEROPE.
See I don't care for the outpost .. or a capital ship or whatever science voodoo is going on over there. I want to see credits and for a CG that pays basically the same as the four previous ones with the difference that it is just 500 LY further away than the others ... not really willing to do extra amount of work for the same amount of reward. Heck, I'd rather visit SOTHIS, ROBIGO or QUINCE. These pay approximately the same as a CG and most importantly, I only have to do it once and don't wait a whole week for my payment.

So either significantly increase the credit reward for longer distances measured from SOL or just stop placing the ONLY CG in the week at the damn edge of the bubble. Another week with nothing to do.
Gosh.

I think there should be way more active CGs. CGs have rewards that shape the galaxy in ways that we normally can't, such as a new station, mega ship or improved station facilities. The CR reward is just an incentive. Having just 1-3 CGs at a very specific region just means every CG succeeds.

I like the CGs to be in the harder to get places. Means the first few hours are usually pretty chilled and fun dodging the early pirates before the usual swarm of children arrive in the Clippers and FDLs and such and most of us swap to PG.

Also even the worst ship at 10ly jump range crosses the 300Ly bubble in 30 jumps. Explorers average 1min/jump even with route plotting etc. so it's half an hour once per week for travel and that is the worst case end to end. Its seriously not as big a deal as you make out. If you scan systems on your way you could also be looking at a 1-2mil payout in explo data and friendly with the local faction on arrival too.

The only time it becomes a problem is if you are lugging a fleet behind you but thats a real rarity in the grand scheme of things...

Well put.
It's not really in our hands how the galaxy is being shaped.

If you don't like it, don't do it.

Or, do what I did, and leave a ship on standby in the nearby. :)

Then use a taxi to get out their quickly. :D

Thinking ahead.

As dayrth just said above, we've just had a couple of cg's running concurrently in the starter systems which were predominantly "fighty".
Now we've got a long distance haulage that ties in somewhat with the story - I think this is a pretty good example of variation and balance within the constraints of the cg system.

If it's not for you OP, simply wait until next Thursday and do a bit of rares trading in the meantime like the cg before last.

Why is my shop so far away when I want something, why is my bathroom at the back of my house when I really need it, why is the OP even creating a thread about this. This is a waste of forum space that could be used for some actual proper salt :p

I guess unless you are a PvPer, it's a challenge to understand. It costs me about 7 million to transfer my ship down there (and it cant jump more than 7ly due to it having a complete PvP loadout).

You are assuming that jump routes are straight forward, which thy are certainly not. For example: I once had to jump through 7 systems with my 7.8 LY Vette for a 15.2 LY total distance. Why? Because the jumprange is so low I can't take direct routes but have to fly all around so I can cross that gap of ~ 10LY between me and my target destination.

Wow 500LY. Such distance. Much grind. Many Jumps. So hard.

Do that in a 7.8 LY heavy tank Vette and we speak again.
