Supercruise is not FTL, is it? Hyperspace would be FTL, right?
Warpdrive is already used by some SciFi TV Show as far as I know.
Then again, so is Hyperspace.

supercruise is FTL (XXc on the HUD means XX times the speed of light (=c)). for the principle behind it see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive
hyperspace is a "faster version" based on a different scientific principle. (more like worm holes)

In answer to the OP, No. I use an FSD to enter SC. It should be clear from the context what I'm referring to. My father used to be a member of the CIA. However, no one he met would have thought that he was a US agent, but would have realised from his actual job that it meant the "Chemical Industries Association".
