One Hour and 45 Min??

Avoid stations over 5,000 LS away from the main star, though distances like the one you went through are extremely rare, I'm guessing you're talking about Hutton Orbital, over 6 million LS away.

It took me this long to get across a system to one station. There has to be a way to choose which star in the system you want to jump to. Such a waste of time.
So, you got one of your initiation rites completed (Hutton Orbital)? o7
For the MUG! :D

On a less tongue-in-cheek note, sorry, have to repeat myself:
Nope, the mechanics are as good as they can be in a single player game which is shoehorned into a MMO mongrel.

Now, I wouldn't mind some sort of dumb autopilot which could fly you to a destination if no one interrupts the trip, but some insight into how the current system came to be might get you appreciate it a bit more.

And the long supercruises need to stay! We don't have cable-cars to Mount Everest or Matterhorn etc., some places should feel an achievement once you get there. Getting across the whole Galaxy is all too easy & quick already.

:)

Thats the one. PC Player. earning Modular Terminals for Marco Qwent. Rough getting the missions that reward them so this was the last one. Its done, but man.

If you're looking to avoid this altogether, if you can scrape together Palladium (I think it's Palladium) you can buy them from the East India Company, a player group that specializes in MT trading. They have a Discord and are very reliable dudes.

Don't worry, Hutton is notorious for being unusually far away from the entry point. Avoid it in future and you're unlikely to have another comparably long journey.

Hutton Orbital?

No one cares!

A group of players worked a faction from there to other systems after 3 months of dealing with the distance.

Alpha Centauri and Hutton Orbital are classic systems from the original games. Although I think the station had a different name back then.

FD intentionally left it in.

For regular day to day gaming, it'd recommend avoiding missions to Alpha Centauri.
But! Flying there is sort of a right of passage for some players.

Never been myself. Most of my gaming sessions last less time than it takes to fly there. :D

I flew to a station yesterday that was 350,000 + ls and it took MAYBE 20 min.
Fed the dog, went to bathroom, had a smoke and was there

I floor it and level the speed once 10k out.
But an hour and 45..... No. You had to have done something wrong

With practice you should be able to get it down to 75-80 minutes. Tune in to Hutton Orbital Radio for in-trip entertainment. There's also a monthly Mug-Meet if you want to meet some crazy truckers while you're there.

It was Eden Station in FE2 and was a Coriolis station

In this situation get out of the systems orbital plane as fast as possible. Taking a perpendicular vector into 'deep space' then heading towards you destination. That'll speed it up some and interdictions are less likely.
