Frontier is getting New Headquarters

Surely this shows the company is doing well then? So we can expect lots of (increased?) investment in ED?

Would love it if they finally came to move in, and instead of three storeys, it was just a single ground floor with lots of odd looking extensions built onto it... Which none of the employees like working in...

Obviously Frontier is financially bad and Elite is dead and all of that...

Cheers.
:)

I'm actually surprised to see the Work In Progress banner with Elite and some smart quotes! That's geek and cool!
Nice! Now, the real mistery is... what is that Established Movie franchise Frontier is developing?!

I think the only thing we can expect is that new Hollywood project to kick in in force. The company has been doing well for years, but that didn't stop us getting RNGineers and smellypresence.

Wonder though if the building itself is actually owned by FDEV or not. Do we have any confirmation on that? In my country at least I've heard of a lot of cases where offices are built brand new for a specific company then rented out, with services provided (cleaning, catering etc.). Don't know the exact reasons why subcontracting turns out to be more advantageous in so many cases, but here it happens. Don't know how it is in the UK.

That's a big building, Frontier must be doing well financially, that's a good thing in my book.
I just hope that the big move from the old HQ to the new one won't delay the release of any updates, ya know servers being moved and re-installed, that sort of stuff.
I remember when the company I used to work for moved to another location, ugh, getting all systems back up was a nightmare.

Congrats to FD with their new home and I wish them all the best when the big move happens.

Well, I hope they will hire more people to fill those spaces to iterate and work on ED then since there are things that needs to be updated from more than just poor placeholder mechanics.

And yes, i do call Powerplay and Engineers placeholder mechanics due to how unimaginatively they were done and how poorly they got implemented.

And perhaps FINALLY get CQC as something WITHIN the game and not a separate part of the start menu.

I don't understand.

So what were their previous offices?

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?

I have no reference point of which to compare these new (different?) offices so I have no way to formulate an emotion. Should I be thrilled, bummed, excited, upset or indifferent.

How can I tell?!??
