Type 6 7 or 9 best bang for buck for trading?

what do you like to do in the game?

with 27 mio you are far beyond any need to upgrade, only to sidegrade.

to clarify:

- you like space trucking/ bulk trading? get a t7, run your routes till you can finance a reasonable outfitted t9

- you like rare goods trading? get a dolphin/t6/AspE

- you like mission trading? get an AspX/t6, run missions till you can finance a dropship/python

- you like combat? get a vulture

- you like exploration? fit an t6/DBE/AspX for that money

- you like mining? fit a AspE

- you like piloting a fighter? get a keelback carrier

- you like flying around? max out a cobra and don't look at CR ever again

...

I have the aspx for main ship doing exploring at some point but want a ship for community goal and missions.

community goals + missions: AspE.

trading community goals: t7, till you can finance a t9, till you can finance a conda, till you can finance a cutter (and have the rank).

Nice summation!
Or be cool and stick with the Lakons for trading. For the ambiance and all.

Just because I am a ship geek here is my usual "starter build" for a T7 trader.
The Shield Boosters (and number) are optional depending on your perception of danger.
Sometimes I will A-rate my Thrusters for the speed and handling and cut back Boosters (power issue) and add a PD.
Great ship. Now if it fit on medium pads (like it should) I would sell my Python.

It's too tall to fit on medium pads. ;)

Thanks! :)
By 1.5 meters some Cmdr smarter then me calculated.
Someone in the Lakon design bureau must have been drunk that day. It practically swims (width-wise) on large pads. Going by memory I think you could park 3 side by side.

This "error", considering the Lakon line-up and the layout of the galactic trading, is most egregious!

I believe all planetary bases are large pad capable. Never see one that wasn't.
In space the Corolis-type (big roundish ones) are and the stations (smaller and boxy) are not.
Off the top of my head I am not sure if the full names of the two give it away also.

What is an outpost?

The small stations you sometimes visit. like trevitchik dock in LHS 3447 if you start a standard (non horizons) game. Those that don't have traffic control voices, that you just land on rather than entering inside.

You know, the ones you never know where you landing pad might be hidden.

well i already made back half of what it cost so not really

I'm sure of it, I just mean that you gotta have the money first before getting your investment back and some can't yet afford that.
Even though you can make money quick now, to then get the T9. I'm all with you on that one, but 70 milion is a hell of a lot money to some that just reached 15 millions.

Type 6 - Excellent distance, low cargo. In fact, the T6 is an underrated multipurpose ship capable of doing several roles well, but ironically not that good for regular trading. Except rares, it shines doing rare runs due to jump range and speed (for the illegal rares).

Type 7 - Average distance, average cargo. It got more capacity in a recent(ish) update, made it more useful than before. It's nicknamed the flying coffin though.

Type 9 - Terrible distance, good cargo. A fat, slow cow, with very good cargo capacity, surpassed only by the Cutter and Corvette. Many also prefer the Anaconda over it as it carries only a little bit less cargo but has much more range and is a lot less fragile. It's the manliest looking ship though.

T7 got a nice buff. It can Cary a good amount of cargo. For the credits, you won't be hauling more. As to the "flying coffin" that's in the past as well. In instance it is pretty deffenseless, but in Supercruise it is near untouchable. With a modicum of effort, you will win out on every interdiction attempt. It is a great trade ship for CGs in Open. The only risky part is when you drop to station.
