I'm Bored

Actually, that's a damn good idea. Have some rep.

I'd forgotten that it was another CMDR that got me on the right road about two years ago - I was trucking tiny amounts of cargo in my sidewinder for very little profit, hadn't even done any missions yet since they looked scary.

Then someone pulled me out of supercruise one day. I was ultra suspicious initially - I thought it was a trap of some kind, but the guy gave me a canister of something, can't remember what it was, but it was worth quite a bit when I sold it.

He was quite patient. I didn't know about the cargo scoop so it took a while to figure out how to collect the stuff he gave me.

But it made the difference - I was able to upgrade enough to increase my profit a bit, and soon I had a Hauler. The rest, as they say, is history :)

Ty!

:)

I regularly try to round up a load of newbies and take them bounty hunting.
Telling them how to survive is one thing, actually keeping them alive in combat is completely different. It's reaaalllly hard. But ultimately rewarding.
Nothin' quite like boosting in guns blazing and saving your trainee for certain death. Usually because they didn't listen.

Be prepared to gain a bounty or two to take agro off them when they inevitably get wanted by accident. Lol

I suggest using Open or Mobius to find your recruits, but then take them to your own PG to avoid being ganked.

Bored? What a coincidence...

I took a break and tried out the "Other" space sim which will get pretty interesting in a few weeks.

Hey Bored,

help new commanders getting a good start into ELITE. This may be harder than expected, but you'll have always a lot to do and you'll also find nice friends. [hehe]

Greetings, Imo

Elite is not a game, its a lifestyle.

Much truth here.
ED can, if you want it to be, a never ending time sink.
Especially if you want to try everything the game offers.
But yea take a break. As I average 6-10 hours a week it's a little harder to get bored.

This is very true. Here is a post I made in another thread about the same thing:

The truth: ED is the only game I play and I don't get board with it.

Now the whole truth: I work 100 miles away from my family, so spend the week living near work. That's where I have my gaming PC as well, so play 2 or 3 hours a night 3 or 4 days a week. At the weekends I spend time with the family. Catching up on chores, horse riding, fishing, looking after the livestock (horse, dogs and some chickens), and generally having a good time in RL. The point being, if you spend all your free time playing ED, (or doing any one thing) you will get board eventually no matter how good it is. Make room for other hobbies or other games in your life and you will keep enjoying all of them.

Hmmm I see what you're saying but ED is still quite a boring 'game'. Livestock or otherwise.

Yes you can, but WHY do you want to? If you feel that spending time on a forum for a game you haven't played for months - and crucially - that you don't plan to ever play again is a good use of you time, then you have serious problems. Life is short, why would you spend even a moment of it doing that?

Cause internet conversations are generally amusing?

Visit some Nebula and special places like Mitterand Hollow, roleplay with multicrew. You have to set goals for yourself in this game. If that doesn't appeal to you then take a break and come back in a few weeks. Update 2.4 launches in September.

Take a break...tis hard playing one game solid fer weeks/months/years and the grind burns everything down over time if ye let it ^

Maybe you would stick around if you lost interest in the game, but still enjoyed the community. But Urud7 doesn't sound like he does sound like he's having much fun.

No, Urud7 is down, bitter and twisted and has an axe to grind, otherwise he wouldn't still be trolling the forums. Time to move on, heh, Urud7?

the trouble with humans is the need for new things. most people want new things all the time - its one of the traits that can lead to addicition be it to adrenaline or to narcotics or pornograpphy or whatever. you can deal with it by a complete break for a short while playing something else, or maybe doing something in real life even if its that job painting the ceiling i have been avoiding for a few years now.
