Frontier's new game?

Of all the old classics they're re-booting (as the kids say these days) this is one I can really get behind.
A scale model of Arrakis, with worms and storms and all the hardware. Play Fremen or Harkonnen...it would be sweeter then spice candy.
Except Dune isn't just Arrakis and it could never be done well enough to satisfy the fanboi. Many have tried.

Dune can only be appreciated in the mind of the reader.

With the globally-renown IP franchise, an apparently Brooks leaked it was a British film franchise
Carry On Cambridge?

Hammer Film Production presents Dracula's Castle?

Mr. Bean?

A Fish Called Wanda in VR?

Alfred Hitchcock presents Elite: Psycho?

Monty Python and the Holy Rail(gun)?

With the globally-renown IP franchise, an apparently Brooks leaked it was a British film franchise according to other threads. The licensing to make games based on James Bond is said to reverted back to Ian Fleming estate.
Given that they were discussing it with an American film studio we are pretty much down to Harry Potter.

Cambridge News first mention Harry Potter when they first covered the story.

Fantastic beasts 2?

If it any of those, Frontier shareholders are going to be slightly , well at least those not on the board, they were promised a world renown Hollywood ip damit.

Mr Bean is ITV, not exactly Hollywood.

Hammer films could be it, they are after all own by AMBI Group but why Hammer films might be fairly well know, they don't have a franchise anyone would call world renown.

Fantastic beasts 2?

I don't think it will be based on the film. It most likely to be set in the world of Harry Potter, perhaps they will have hunting down magical creatures. May be JK Rowling will write something unique for the game as she really does seem incapable of not writing more stories for Harry potter universe.

If it is British, the obvious ones are Harry Potter, Bond and Doctor Who.

It's going to be The Mr. Men isn't it? Actually I can see possibilities!

Flumps Cinematic Universe?

I think it is noteworthy that the three DLC packs just launched for Planet Coaster, namely. Munsters, knightrider, and Back to the Future are all Universal Studio franchises.

Universal Studios biggest film franchises are The Bourne and Jurassic park films

Zardoz the RPG? :D

I gotta be honest... I have no idea what that is. So, I googled it.

I'm still hiding under my desk.

Guardians of the Galaxy
It will be a space action game with ships and heroes. Focused on smaller but still large space with very detailed but fewer locations. Planetary landings with worlds and cities, first person combat, aliens of all kinds. Trading, pirating, combat, wars. It will have a lot of focused story but also random elements. Loot and gear upgrads, ship upgrades and bigger ships of course.

Is this not competing with themselves? Somewhat, but mostly no. The game will be the opposite of Elite Dangerous. Easy to get into, fast paced, more arcade-like if you like. It will have a lot of story and a solo campaign but also free roam multiplayer universe outsite the story. The tech they afford with this game will also transfer to ED future updates (planetary landings on worlds with atmosphere, nature, wild life and cities). And yeah, you can crete a raccoon character.

To be honest, I have no idea what they are doing. I know there already is a movie game for Guardians of the Galaxy. But I thought it would be cool if the upcoming game could benefit ED too.

Here is a quote from Rolling Stone:

We’ve also announced that we’ll be working on a third franchise which we’ll be talking about this year. It’s a license of a movie franchise of worldwide renown. It’s because we’re a listed company, and that we have to announce things that might be deemed “market-sensitive,” but we didn’t want to announce what the franchise was. But it’s a biggie. We want to have the materials to do it. We talked to lawyers, and that’s the form of words that most exactly matches that, without giving it away. That’s coming in 2018.

* Movie franchise - More than one film I guess
* Worldwide reknown - It's probably not based on a french movie.
* It's a biggie - It's probably not Zardoz (sorry guys) :)
