His time is coming anyway and i think Trumph must be on his payroll, there is no other reason makes a sort of sense about hist stance in global warming. :D

Send a hand again!!

Where the source of the information on President Trump pardoning himself... is non-existent and simply a fake news story!!
whats interesting is always the Mainstream news who are covering it...

and it is no suprise it is the Fake Networks running with the story!! MSNBC, CNN

another source suggests otherwise
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...ho-can-pardon-in-russia-case-source-says.html

"There is nothing to discuss," the source said. "The President has the plenary power of pardon. He can pardon whomever he likes."
-Fox News John Roberts article
Actually as written they do suggest it.

The Fox article does put it nice and concisely what this affair's about...

The Washington Post reported late Thursday that Trump's lawyers were exploring ways to undercut special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during last year's presidential race. One of the report's sources told the paper that Trump had asked his attorneys about his power to pardon aides, family members and even himself.

I know Adept said that it's possible for Trump to be prosecuted for some of his lesser crimes whilst still president, but I do believe that he will be tossed out of the White House when he's found guilty of the abuse of his presidential powers.

So back to my original stupid question.. Why on Earth would Trump think he'd be in a position to pardon himself?

Can anyone explain why Assange still insists that the Wikileaks DNC emails did not come from the Russians?

Isn't that pretty central to this whole discussion?

Leave Trump where he is for now I reckon.

Pence is worse. And with Trump doing this crap there is a fantastic chance of getting shut of the lot of them next election.

just some added thoughts from a New Zealander who follows the Dramas in the political circles in the United States

Because he has the authority to Pardon anyone. There's nothing in the Constitution that prohibits him pardoning himself.

Baron Munchausen, Joseph Heller, M. C. Escher, Lewis Carroll

There's nothing to stop a president from pardoning himself but after this affair is over Trump will no longer be president and so he will no longer be in a position to pardon himself.

The question isn't about whether this is the case
This seems obvious to me, and I'm sure to everyone else as well

The question I'm asking is why isn't this obvious to Trump?
Why on Earth would Trump think he'd be in a position to pardon himself?

Do you see what are they doing? First saying it's a lie he don't want to pardon himself, and now saying he can, and no one amongst them think about it how it will end if he just considering something like this.
Well... At this point it's too late to do anything about it, stop it happening. But he literally cut's his own throat with something like this.

Because youbdont getv'flash fired'? So there is always time to pardon yourself when its about to go wrong? You know, pre-emptive pardon?

What Trumph forgot how the people going to think about him if he just seriously consider this, and what they will going to think and act if he is stupid enough to do that.

Nixon was pardoned after he quit but before charges were filed, so was essentially pardoned in advance of any legal case and possible conviction. Gerald Ford did this for him, and it basically terminated the investigation.

It's easy to think, then, that Trump (who doesn't care for tradition and has no sense of shame) may be investigating whether a persident can pre-emptively pardon themselves of unspecified charges.

The legal commentators that I follow seem to think that if he tried to do this it'll end up on the SCOTUS's plate, and they'd have to make a ruling as to whether or not it was constitutional.

EDIT: If it's judged to be constitutional then that could be trouble. It would essentially gives the president a blank cheque to do what the hell they want to, disregarding legality, as they can get themselves out of jail for free for Federal crimes. Still, state-level prosecutions would still be possible but it'd be a horrible headache.

On the short list of Things that Are NOT Obvious to Trump:
- like the Content of Books, or the right to Personal Integrity of Women, or actual crowd sizes.

Ok guys, serious question here. What happens if Trump fires Mueller and pardons everyone? Is there any way for the USA to get justice or remove him?

If not then this constitutional arrangement seems somewhat lacking, although to be fair to the people who wrote it they never counted on a loon like Trump being elected.

Can you imagine the foaming at the mouth if Obama has preemptively pardoned Hillary Clinton for "any crimes that might have been committed relating to Bhengazi and/or email storage".

Trumpworld would have gone nuts over that.

Regardless of whether or not Trump has asked his lawyers to look into the question of pardoning himself and close family members/associates, the answer from everyone across the political spectrum should be a horiffed "that would be very wrong".
