I hear the chorus singing "we rather they take their time instead of releasing a buggy mess" but honestly....at this rate its better be heaven on earth upon release else they ll have to face some serious questions as to what on earth they did do all those months.

Yeah, its actually quite a thing. Its now officially passed beyond gamescon. Release is now five weeks away, from the original eight (I think) three months ago. That means each month we got one week closer to release. The stripped-down netcode improvements were one week away two weeks ago, and now they are almost two weeks away...

For those who predicted a December release for 3.0...I offer my applause. Seems you were indeed correct [rolleyes]

I expect Spectrum will be in meltdown tomorrow once the new dates get around...

Edit: It's already hit the fan on Spectrum...a lot of very angry backers and subscribers are firing off already, mainly since the delay wasn't passed on to us until after the Cyclone beach buggy sale when it's obvious CiG knew of the issues well beforehand. Delayed beyond Gamescon...that'll be interesting. Personally, I hope CR mounts the stage to a chorus of boos.

I added my 2p worth...decent upvotes so the almost predictable idiocy formerly ever present in Spectrum is being shouted down faster than they can post their sycophantic nonsense.

they're also working on a delta patcher to be ready soon.

Wow, 3.0 must be enormous if it finally motivated them to get pull their fingers out and make a proper patcher. And/or teeming with bugs which will require many patches.

Two years between pre-alpha 2.0 and pre-alpha 3.0. And almost certainly a slimmed down 3.0 compared with what they were showing a year ago. That would be pretty sad.

And/Or bandwidth costs are more and more painful... I wonder how much money have been burned by bandwidth costs.

Especially when bearing in mind what CR claimed last year, by his reckoning we would be coming up to 3.3 right about now and then looking at 4.0 for the end of the year. 4.0 seems like a pipedream at this stage, at least another year, if not closer to 2 years at this rate...

I'm sure I remember you arriving in this thread full of positivity and hope. Some visitors ask why the tone in here gets quite upset and incredulous - this is why.

The people viewed as "anti" here aren't against the game - they're just against companies messing their customers around to the extent they end up feeling like this. We want the game too, but we also want an end to the run-around and disappointment and broken dreams.

For the first time in a while I am genuinely surprised. If they have nothing to reveal of 3.0(Lite) at Gamescom, what on earth have all those backers paid 30 Euros to go and see at the off campus "after show?"

3.1 or 4.0 demo, I presume, or at least something akin to an extended AtV episode.

Well, i reserved my Gamescom tickets back in April, but not because of Star Citizen but because of Elite and now they tell us that they dont even have a showfloor this year.. :D

except all income for ATV episodes are from those who pay a subscription so that income should be separate.

"Something akin to", not literally an ATV episode. What I've meant is that there probably will be a video with technology showcase instead of a single gameplay demo.

Erff, that is a little awkward :/ Have you been able to reserve a ticket for the Elite Meet in Cologne on Thu 24th? That is free at least, if you are able to go? (Sorry not SC-related, I know)

Yup, at least there is that and i have tickets. :)

But, i might as well go and check RSI presentation. That is if they have anything to present..

I wonder what fancy name the upcoming delta patcher will get. And if they'll be smart and google "rsync".

Disparate codebase entity consolidator with a high-fidelity subsumption accumulator, utilizing the power of cloud distribution and transmission techniques we can deliver a whole new paradigm shift of immersive bit-shifting and, working in close conjunction with our other teams around the globe, deliver a block-level byte assimilator that punches far above it's weight.

So how was your Tour of Duty the other night, Commando? Anything to report to the unfaithful? ;)

Actually, for a number of reasons, nothing much happened (connection issues and my friend wasn't online very long) so nothing to report. We will try again sometime, but I plan on being out on the bike most of this weekend :D

As for Gamescon, have RSI announced they won't be attending or something? I am sure they had a kiosk place announced and they still show up as attendee on the Gamescon site.
