Was just about to post the same thing, playing it on my BBC B (With Kenneth Kendal Voice Chip), I still remember the excitement of seeing something completely different and the moment, after pressing Load Commander and seeing what the game was about. It was a major kick in the teeth for the Chuckie Egg, Castle Quest and Planetoid type games that were the rage

Can still play some of these online in an emulated window

Repped you for posting that link and mentioning those great games. Cried with joyous nostalgia when I also found ALL the Reptons on there and the original RPG ... "TWIN KINGDOM VALLEY"! [heart]

Does anyone still has a ESC bug where you cannot escape the intro sequence?

I tried several solutions I found around but it still sticks. Sometimes it will accept ESC but 90% of time wont.

Do you mean the logo? I dont see any intro sequence besides the Horizons logo. And then again I was never able to skip it.

Come on have we got one trustworthy, as opposed to from a politician, firsthand report of these Thargoids eating a real commander?

Heard stories that Jed told CMDR Blind Pew that he intercepted a transmission between two Thargoid sites that loosely translated said "He tastes like chicken..."

"Various Mission Tweaks and Fixes"

I really hope that doesn't affect the Quince scan missions. I have had the game for 2 weeks, but literally just heard about them earlier tonight. I was able to do like 5 and made around 9 million before the server messages started.

I need those credits :(

You have 9 million after 2 weeks?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! you really do not need those credits XD

It's sad the speed multiplier bug after rest is resolved. It was ACE, encountered it on the plain PS4 and everything was suddenly faster, no lags also, ship flew like miracle. Pity I didn't meet any players :D

Not to show off and admit I play quite a lot, I made around 220M alltogether (accoring to info screen) by now. My Python is fully equipped A rated and engineered to lvl 3-4 in average. Happy with that thing.
Didnt use and of the Quince things, just played community goals, trading missions and lots of passenger transport. Found a quite optimal system for me, where lots of passengers have similar destination (basically 2 or 3 different) which makes the bus going much smoother.

Next stop is.. :D

Again looks like a long time to have to wait for such a small update list. I am personally hoping the servers are going to be left alone or all the different modes fixed for ever; Transaction, Adjudication and Matchmaker Servers.

I'm glad to hear about the traffic controllers. That bug bothers me more than it should I think. I hope they tell us the assigned landing pad now, too, and not only if we engage a docking computer. For a long time the whole traffic controller "flow" has been not right. I'd also like to hear about the falling skimmers at surface settlements. I'm not fond of visiting any until this is properly fixed. I think it's close to a game-breaking bug. Also, I'll be curious to see if the mission board is back at Blackmount Orbital. :)

Official comment in the thread is to let them know if this continues after 2.4. So we are waiting for 2.4 until it is safe to return to planets again...

Greetings commanders, we've an update on the way this morning at 10AM UK / 5AM East US.

We expect the servers to be down for about five hours while we perform this update. Below are the patch notes for this update.

Stability Fixes
  • Fixed a crash involving Fighters.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when using the vanity camera shortcut while viewing the System/Surface Map.

General Fixes & Tweaks
  • Overworked Air Traffic Controllers will no longer greet pilots as they are leaving.

Missions
  • We no longer award micro resources that are not used for anything as mission rewards.
  • Various mission tweaks and fixes.

Console Notes
  • Xbox, PlayStation 4: Fix for the welcome mission not appearing for new commanders.
  • PlayStation 4: Fix for a bug where the game ran at an accelerated speed after resuming from Rest Mode.
  • PlayStation 4: General client progression-flow fixes for new commanders.

any idea when the next "major" updates set to come out? cause i was told the dlc shareplay error wouldn't be corrected til then......

holy scratch that i dont know what you guys think you did but im seeing another fix not mentioned in your patch notes play share is fix thank you omg you have no idea how much i been wanting that fixed

Not noticed any improvement to responsiveness - game still runs sluggishly on modest systems, due to lack of 'off' & 'low' options on graphics settings.

I hear ya but you must be referring to PC because us Xbox players deal with all of this and, im assuming, it cant be worst then ours. PC's hyperspace tunnel alone take 2 to 3 times longer on console. I just saw a version on PS4 and the same can be said there as well. I know it must be ruff for the PC master race to have some issues but trust snd know you aren't dealing with the worst of it. I envy you for that.

Because it's not allowed by Microsoft was the last I recall being said on that.

And yet, Rocket League and Minecraft will allow for PC/XBone/Switch cross play. While Sony notably refuses to play along.

Allowing cross play between XBone and PC/MAC would benefit Elite players by uniting the player pool. And hopefully with the PS4 players, too, once Sony gets over their act.

This could be nice in private groups (not in Open because balancing is obviously impossible)

So is balancing between Horizons and Vanilla game players. And gamepads have little hope to compete with the accuracy of a HOTAS, not to mention M+K. Yet, all play together on PC. HOTAS btw. are available for XBone and PS4. It's only in direct PvP competition where somebody with a gamepad may (not must) be at a disadvantage.

Threadbare balancing concerns shouldn't be what stops cross play. We're talking about a game where even fixed weapons have a slight form of auto aim by means of adjusting convergence in a limited manner and where the comfortable and arguably in some scenarios most effective weapons are gimbaled and use limited auto aiming.

This is not Quake or UT, where M+K players would hopelessly dominate everybody else.
