Do you want the Thargoids to hit hard and be actually a threat to the Bubble?

I want to make friends with them and have them over to my ship for afternoon tea.

"Some of my best friends are goi... Thargoids."

I do not, I'm afraid. It's all I can do to eke out time to play ED. I do keep up on the newer authors writing in the Cthulhu mythos, however. My brother Laird Barron is a critically acclaimed writer in that vein

Seriously?!

I'll look up his works!

They are out there in the cold black distance between the stars. They are watching us...and they love us.

@metascrawl, do you read anything in the Lovecraft mythos that is more contemporary?

A little here and there, but not much. A few years ago I wrote my Masters thesis on Lovecraft (in the context of theories of modernity and yada yada) and I got pretty burnt out on the whole deal as a result. I reckon I'm about due to get back into that stuff now though - is there anything you'd recommend?

EDIT: Just saw your post above - I'll look him up!

Good recovery!

Enough to get me safe passage in a T9 with a hull full of LTD's?....just in case I decide to ....relocate. This neighborhood may be about to go downhill a little. I have some nice real estate for sale if anyone's interested, great view of the Horsehead Nebula.

If they attack, turn everything on the edges of the bubble into rubble (hey, look! rhyming happened...) and then moving inexorably toward the seats of power within each of the major ruling factions. Like I say, it's not for everyone. It'd still be frickin' cool though.

So that's why the solar system planet bobbleheads have appeared in the store - to remind us what they used to look like before the thargoids returned.

i have allways found it strange that maia doesnt have a shipyard for you to store a ship there. (im rly hoping it blows up)

If you have a T9 full of LTDs then of course I can offer you safe passage.
Honest.
Tbf a wing trade in that would be worth having.

Destroy it all.

Sick and tierd of humans wanting to rob me of 1t of my dirty laundry, broken items, limpets, scrap, and chewing gum paper.

If i leave a station and mid-flight recall i didnt sell any of my mission rewards, i instantly dump it so i wont be bothered on my flight by these horrible robbers that are at every single galactic intersection. I assume the Thargoids look at us at with disgust. They might be kinder and more peaceful. First i met them they just turned off my ship and shined a light in me face.

I haven't but that looks like fun :)

Very fun, I highly encourage you to pick it up.

Expect to die a lot. Good mythos games make you die alot :)

It can be frustrating, but just remember - if the fun is in the journey, then when the Elder Gods awaken, everyone wins :D

I for one will welcome our alien overlords, and will happily fight with them against certain factions that have got far too big for their boots.

The logical thing to do would be start off quite gently, with small encounters in the void, gradually building up to full-on interstellar war. But there's a danger that would underwhelm.

I don't understand why some players want "Dark Souls in space" forced onto all players in a single patch.

What's wrong with it being optional? It being optional doesn't mean those who want "Dark Souls in space" won't get that. Just means they'll have to travel to it.

If people think random hyper-dictions on trader's Haulers & Type-6's is going to make for happy players, they're deluded. Strong word I know.

Forcing content on players rarely goes down well.

That would not describe Frontier's methods, would it? :)

I'm going to take off my staff hat and put on my player hat for a second...

This would be immeeeeeense. I know it's not for everyone, but if the Thargoid invasion return (they've been here before!) is one of violence, I want to see everything being subject to it. If they attack, turn everything on the edges of the bubble into rubble (hey, look! rhyming happened...) and then moving inexorably toward the seats of power within each of the major ruling factions. Like I say, it's not for everyone. It'd still be frickin' cool though.

*staff hat back on*

Err... you'll know more soon! Not going to spoil anything though :p

The Allies are never going to cross the Channel to France, and the Russians won't use it as an opportunity. Really.

Obligatory Bunker Video, please, someone.

I would like them to pop stations like meat balloons, to smash the bubble up like a good vinegar soaked six-er belting a rotten one in conkers and leave us rebuilding huge tracts of human space.

I want mentalist sweaty palmed fights where I have to bring my biggest ships and pay loads of insurance claims and consider using mCrew more because that pip gives me an edge.

I'd like there to be very high risk systems as they crawl across the bubble where we can try and push them back, or the choice for those that don't want to play ball or lose ships to run away to safe places.

I'd really like to watch the world burn tbh.

There wouldn't be an exodus to Colonia, there just would be an exodus...from ED.
But by all means let them go for it, just don't be surprised or complain about not having a game next year.
I could easily live with that, could you ?
