LOL indeed swearing seems to be a very fruitful counterpoint to loosing oneself a nice ship and a cargo.

To be honest, I tend to keep my best swear words for when I'm about 1-2 AU from the station with a badly damaged ship after taking a battering in a dangerous system tyring to increase my Elite rating, and some swine decides to take a pop at me just becouse my shields and hull are about 10%.

:D
Herbs eh??? prefer a single malt to top my cuppa up with myself!
I thought about different kind of herbs (the ones legit in most systems), but those would probably work quite well. :p

As for liquor, it reduces your accuracy, though it does boost your evasive capabilities. :D

You might need those capabilities, I am fairly sure that driving under the influence of alcohol is a crime in the Elite universe as well :)

That would be an interesting idea, being pulled over by system law enforcement for a drug-test.... ah, maybe not.

the ****** thing their so good here's a way to do some serious cop killing

1: dock at space station
2: fit at least a 4wn beam laser and cooling boster
3: launch from space port
4: as soon as you get manual control of your ship set speed to 0 and turn to face the opening (make sure you are within a few ks
5: open fire so the space station launches a few police to get you
6: as the doors open run your laser through them before they know what's hit them
7: keep this up untill you feel you have sufficintlygot revenge for all those times they never helped you when you where atacked and those "VACATE THE VACINTY IMIDATEY" messages.

I remember the time when I was flying a Viper and carried an urgent parcel to Ross 154. On my way to Sirocco Station some stupid pirate in a tiny fighter slammed into my ship and got stuck in my rear thrusters. It didn't really worry me, as I was already decelerating and figured that I could land my craft using retros, however when I got to the port, there were no free pads. I landed rough nearby and waited a bit, to no avail. Pretty ed-off (I was standng there with an urgent parcel for the feds, deadline on my backend and busted thruster and there was no !@#$%^! free pad?) I took-off and started flying over Sirocco Station - backwards - which severely ed off the traffic control and resulted in a swarm of police Vipers erupting from the hangar and trying to tan my hide. Unwilling to cooperate I started flying around, accelerating on retros and either blowing them up as they were chasing me, or turning around and blasting them while flying on inertia. In the result of cops' less-than-stellar aim, one of the landed ships was either destroyed or forced to flee (I was too absorbed with my non-standard evasive maneuvers to notice), so after boosting my combat rating a bit and paying the fine for "unlawful discharge" I finally managed to land, repair my ship AND deliver the parcel on time.

Good times. :D

nice sticking it to the cops
try out the camping just in frount of the door to the spaceport you can some times destroy the second viper with the explosion of the first one

I did something similar a few times when I was a bit miffed with the authorities. I had a Panther clipper with as many Shield Generators as I could possibly install plus a booster to keep them at 100%. I would get to within metres of a Space Station docking door and then stop. Eventually the warnings to move would turn to threats, and then the doors would open to reveal hoardes of pesky little Vipers out to move me along.

The first few out would take immediate evasive action to try and avoid ramming into me, sometimes crashing into each other, usually failing to avoid me. (One could almost imagine the expressions on the pilots faces as the doors opened, and they accelerated forward, to be presented with a huge almost immovable object right in their path!!) Those that did get out cleanly would attack, but were about as effective as mosquitoes trying to sting a rhino. Could just sit there and let wave after wave of them pin-***** me before smashing to bits on my amply protected hull. (I never really liked actually shooting the Police down unless I had to, but allowing them to Kamikaze on me was acceptable.) :p

Its also a good way of increasing your elite ranking as well:rolleyes:

I have been known to also sit in a heavily armed Panther Clipper and wait for the police to exit the airlock.

Meh, I used to sit behind the spacestation and the police ships would try to turn around the destruct against the back of the launch bay. Was never a huge fan of the Panther Clipper.

The only reason I liked the Panther Clipper is because it was the most expensive ship in FE2 and also the most heavily arm-able, so you could pretty much make it indestructible. It certainly wasn't the strealined looks or handling which I liked! ;)

At least I'm not the only one!:D I love the way the thrusters rotate when raising the landing gear.

You knew you'd made it when you could affor one of those.

i can't stand the bigger ships the largest i will go is a harris fighter, nothing bigger turns quick enought to fight and sniping with turrents is boring

Now I've always been the other way round. I tend to go hell for leather to get a larger ship before I start doing the missions etc.. I do however trade down as well as up, going from a Panther or Griffin to a Harris for the fun of dogfighting.

I was always partial to the middle ground - Asp or the Imperial Courier - 20MW and only trade as much as I needed to keep me in fuel. All about he missions and dropping into dangerous space to rack up the kills.
