Any info about the time the event starts ? I've got to do a bit of preplanning, as my hometown is cut off from the railway for the duration of the summer holidays, so going by train is no real option, except driving to another neighboring town first... *meh*

Considering it's a rooftop location I guess there is an elevator. Event starts at 7pm.

Got my e-tickets also, it says that the event is between 7pm-12am.
Our posse has a car as we are staying in Dusseldorf during Gamescom, but im guessing we need a designated driver.. :x

If you are coming by car from Düsseldorf, plan some extra time as there are several bridges currently under repair, leading to very heavy traffic. Best is, switch to the A52 and then A57 directly, or consult the car navigation route. Also, parking at the Lanxess Arena is an option instead of KölnSky, if the parking there is already full.

Yes, we are coming from Düsseldorf as we took hotel from there. We tried to book one from Cologne, but they were really expensive even back in April when we reserved our hotel. Go figure why..
Also, there were no direct flights from Helsinki to Cologne, only to Dusseldorf so that was one very important point also.

You can also try the A3 route, but I would really recommend to check the traffic before you start (and for either route, calculate in a nice time buffer

Or, you can also use the train connection from Düsseldorf to Cologne.
We thought about it, and after i checked few train prices, it was clear that rental car would be much cheaper.
Its only 90 euros for 3 days as trains cost as much as 30 euros per person roundtrip, per day.
