Say what you will about Nightshady's alleged use of exploits, but the man knows how to play this game front and back. I honestly don't believe the same can be said of Sandro, or most of the designers. But go ahead and use the exploit to try to knock down his solid points.
He's a better programmer than that.
He certainly did a good job on the block function.
The block feature is the programming equivalent of throwing your hands up in the air.
Programming or PR, depending on who gave up with their area of work first...

Or: use the in-game tool to play the game with people you like to play with. And Nightshady isn't an allegeded cheater, he is a cheater plain and simple. Like the overwhelming majority of the 'hardcore PvP community'. Finally, if people start cheating in a game and play 'the way they want to' without any consideration whatsoever for other people then they shouldnt be surprised others simply do not want to play with them. No hard feelings and all that.
So far I havent used the block tool at all in-game, and I've become nearly un-gankable (except for when I am drunk or some such
). Still, if these individuals insist on being nothing more than boring time-wasters yelling childish insults while cheating than I dont think I'l lose much by blocking them. They offer neither fun gameplay nor a challenge at the moment, and I'd prefer to keep my games clean of cheaters on general principle. Luckily for shady and the gang they are still allowed to play in Open, but that doesnt mean other players arent allowed to be a bit more strict. tl;dr inconsiderate "I have the right to play as I want!" Cartman-style cheaters have no moral high ground and should expect the majority of people to just toggle them off.

Calling "most PvPers" cheaters, isn't that a bit too far? You're basically accusing a considerable part of the playerbase of A horrible thing, don't you want to think twice before?
Edit: it's the same as calling most PvEers carebears just because of a few mommy-huggers in their ranks.

Every time I see a person calling players "idiots" because of their antagonistic playstyle, it gives me the creeps. What kind of immaturity leads people to be unable to separate real life from In-game RP?
Actually, no it is not, and I did not say that. I said those in the 'hardcore pvp community'. And if you were around then and checked reddit, you would have seen most of the known PvP groups whining and complaining and threatening to never play again. I always played in Open and never took serious out-of-game shots at them, but I was shocked to see the extent of the cheating. I have no idea how the 'casual PvP player' did by comparison, but the organised groups by and large were filled to the brim with cheaters. Most of them complaining how they had to do do it to remain competitive because of the grind and all that.
Because we all know you need god-rolls on your cutter to kill a T7 at a CG.

if npcs were actually actually a challenge to deal with other than being easily escapable, i think a lot of the animosity between pvp'ers and pve'ers would go away.
The current pvp'ers are upset at the pve crowd because those people see pve as being a safe way to play ...which it is, however pvp is so rare that even players who are keen on attacking other players end up just playing pve 99% of the time.
the current pve'ers are upset at the pvp crowd because those people simply can't compete with the pvpers... Which is as much a failure of ship balance and mechanics as it is any lack of skill.
If fdev makes the npcs experience better and corrects some of the ship balancing issues, you would end the pvp and pve specific min-max builds for the most part and give both sides far less to complain about.
The only caveat to that are CG's. Which is another topic completely.
So hopefully that gets addressed in the quality of life updates. It's getting really old seeing players complaining about "the hardships" of flying without weapons and defenses and the other players arguing back while being in their min-maxed build that's only good for murdering players since every battle ends up using all their ammo and/or heatsinks and shield cells on their super high dps loadout that's good for about 1 ship kill before needing to dock for a reload. But we'll have to wait and see if fdev does anything to bring players together or if they continue to just do things that separate them.

lol , all you players blocking make me laugh . You do realise you're just killing open play dont you ? Why not just go mobius if it really gets to you so bad ? We know it's tough and emotional defending your pixels . Its funny because the game you all cry so much over is going to be dead before you know it and the best part is , it will be the people crying who kill it!
Blocking may yet save open despite the sad act station griefers.
I dont see other people 'crying'. I have no clue who you are but the way you communicate makes me think Open will do just fine with you not being able to connect to others.
