Does Quince still work?

I also went to Quince last week, and because of system States (I think one was BUST) the missions were crap. So I went to Wu Guinagi / Hip 10716. Bring a decent ship that can fit on medium pads, and to start getting your faction up with all the minor factions that are Empire (there are 11 I think) just do the myriad of transport data / goods from Van Royen (HIP10716) to the three stations in Wu Guinagi. At each station in Wu, pick up return data and goods transport back to Van Royen. IN a few cycles, each minor faction will start offering the planetary scan missions. This is where the rep increases get good, and so does the money. I started last week at 0% Viscount and am now around 65% of my way to Marquis or the next one is. BUT as I am nearing ALLIED status with each minor faction, the rep and $$ increase or pretty good. Whats nice is, the planet that all the planetary scan missions are on are right close to Van Royen, all in same spot. The 'Wartime Scans" the base is relatively well defended but if you can find a spot on the edge of the red box of their base and can peek in and scan, just full reverse, recall your ship, and the one scan does all missions.

What ship are you using?

I've never Quinced. I've been there, I've flown a few passengers, I've scanned a few surfaces, but never stacked missions like this, nor logged in and out for more. I've been to Wu, to Sothis, to Ceos, to 17 Draconis - none of these have impressed me at all. I've made pretty much all my credits through normal missions, trade, mining and of course Ram Tah (and recently Professor Palin), Community Goals and just doing "stuff", normal, everyday, routine stuff.

Loli bet your one of those people who made loads of cash here and know wants it closed so you can feel all superior etc
Just for the record i have all the ships and over a billion credits, so i made my millions years ago just to let you know. Ive been around these forums alongtime, (7 years) longer than 99% of people around so im no nOOb even though my post count is low.

Nope, never even entered the Quince system in 2 years of owning the game let alone farmed it.

I got my Corvette the old fashioned way, playing the game a long time and grind grind grind!

Places like this where you can fast forward your bank balance are the number 1 cause of people getting into ships they can't handle and then getting blown up and leaving the game.

I don't condone exploits like this of any type, but at least the massacre mission farming taught people some basic combat skill at the same time.

Same...but I'm two and a half years in and only 300mil in assests, 55mil of it being credits.

For the life of me, I don't see how you guys have BILLIONS of credits.

Finish in the top 10% of 35 CGs and you've got yourself a minimum of 1 billion credits. Easy peasy!

And that's just from the completion rewards, doesn't even include the money you earn during the CG or any missions you do between CGs.

Fair enough...full disclosure, I didn't even know what a community goal was until about six months ago. Didn't know about this forum until just a bit before that. I actually only started playing the game because of some captures I saw on a friend's XB1 feed.

And that is the main issue with how new players are introduced to the game, it shouldn't be possible for a new player to not know what a CG is after 6 months.

So rather than steadily gaining a good amount of credits each week, you are earning hardly anything, so when you discover somewhere like Quince you feel entitled to use it.

So really it's FD's poor instruction to new players which is to blame here.

I've spent a LOT of time decoding alien ruins - formerly at 201 million a run, now at 111 million a run. I can usually hit the top 25% or even 10% of a CG or two within a day, then head out to the ruins for a scan session, which usually takes me a couple evenings to complete, though I will start working towards speed runs before much longer, and then return to the bubble either just before or just after the CG's end, do a little bounty hunting or trading, and then get paid from the CG. It plain adds up fast, especially when your only expenses are some minor repairs and a reload.

To be clear, though, I've never "Quinced." I didn't even know what "board hopping" was...had to google that one. If I'm honest, I don't think that I've used any exploit or whatever you want to call them. My trip to Colonia last week was my second biggest payout behind my trip to SagA*...maybe all my time in the black also attributed to not knowing anything about Community Goals.

Again, following the "things I never new about in-game" trend, I didn't even know about Ram Tah until I heard about him through one of Obsidian Ant's videos a few months back. That mission sounds so daunting, I don't care if it paid 300mil, I don't think I'd try and tackle it...all that planetary LAT/LONG surfing would do my head in.

It's vastly less complex than that, as you can see and lock on to the ruins sites within 1000 ls of each planet. As long as you know which planet the sites are on, finding them is easy.

I also didn't need a video to know these were out there - I stumbled on the mission quite easily docking at Felice to swap some modules around before paying a visit to Ram Tah to have them engineered, and picked up the mission just by landing (which is how the mission is obtained). I had ignored it initially, but once I did a little looking in to it, I found it fascinating.

Would you mind giving a simple step-by-step or pointing towards where to find one?

From what I understand, have a couple corrosion racks installed and land at Meene (think thats where Ram Tah lives), then head _______ Ly away to the systems that have _______. Gather ________, Scan _______, then head back to Ram Tah. If you could possibly fill those in for me? I've never even been to the ruins only Thargoid stuff so I wanted to make money while I do for the first time.

I've never done any of this rank spamming stuff there. I did head out there to pick up passengers for my Colonia passenger run a few months back but only because it usually has a large number of long rage passenger missions on the boards ad I knew I'd be able to pick up some wannabe colonists there quickly.

I posted this in another thread earlier - I made 22.2m in 10 minutes this weekend and nobody could call it an exploit in any way, it was just running three passenger missions simultaneously, which I assume even the most ardent anti-exploiter wouldn't consider to be exploiting anything or else why allow us to equip more than one passenger cabin. All three groups wanted to go to the same system, two to one station and the third to another. They were criminals, which bumps the pay up because they don't want to get scanned. The missions the three missions paid approx 5.5m, 6.5m and 10m and the distance was 98LY, which is three jumps in my passenger Orca.

I do CGs, they drip feed cash into your account all the time and you don't need to spend hours on them getting into the top 10%, the top 50% is usually the sweet spot in terms of time spent to rewards received.

I have the opposite problem to you to be honest, I can't see how it's possible to engage in any activity other than just flying around and not make money unless you lose a lot of ships. My assets are at about 2.2 billion.

IM in a python, which is the best ship you can get for being on Medium Pads. You only really need it for the lucrative cargo missions between HIP10716 and Wu Guinagi, but if you are ONLY doing Planetery and Wartime scans, a sidewinder with an SRV bay will do the job :)

I did it once, never again. I still feel dirty. I used money from quince to combat ready my anaconda for CZs and i use the money from the CZs to help pay for my imperial ranking. I'm using my cutter in trading. I'm making my money the straight way from here out.

Yeah i second that as ive been away from this game for about 18 months and alot has changed.

Welcome back! If you want quick money, Robigo is still a go'er. Its pretty tedious, but you can make money doing what i call "ship tours".

The process is as follows:

Arrive that the station in Robigo in a medium ship (Python is preferred, with lots of cargo space). Try and bring some exploration data to increase your rep.
Accept slave smuggling missions (you may need to board hop)
Abandon each mission (you will take a rep hit for this)
Sell the slaves back to the station (you will gain rep for doing this)
Rinse and repeat until you are bored senseless

Its not as quick as Quince, but if you are doing other things on your PC, its nice and quick to do it.

Corrosion-resistant racks are sold by Professor Palin, and required only for things like Unknown Artifacts, Unknown Probes, and the various Unknown cargos found at the thargoid facilities, or things like Toxic Waste. None are required for the Guardian Ruins.

My personal recommendation for a ship for this: http://beta.coriolis.edcd.io/outfit...==.Aw1/kA==..EweloBhAOEEYAsICmBDA5gG2SeF9A===

But any ship with an SRV hanger and a minimum of 12 tons of cargo space and a good or better jump range is sufficient.

To begin, fly to Felice dock and land. You will receive this mission automatically.
Once you have the mission, head for
Synuefe LY-I B42-2, planet C2. There will be 3 Ancient Ruins sites there, and a total of 33 obelisks to scan across these three sites. I have a spreadsheet I've made
(https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...r-Volunteers?highlight=Looking+for+Volunteers) that will help guide you through this, though it required Excel 2010 or later to display properly.

Once you arrive you will need to land and disembark in your SRV and collect Ancient Artifacts (these are not Unknown Artifacts), there are a total of 11 that you will need:

2 Ancient Totem
2 Ancient Urn
2 Ancient Casket
2 Ancient Orb
2 Ancient Tablet
1 Ancient Relic

You will want to store these in your ship, as you will need them when scanning obelisks.
Each obelisk requires one or more of these to scan correctly to be in your SRV's cargo hold.
When the correct combination of items are carried and the obelisk is scanned you will receive a message indicating which Data entry you have decoded. There are 101 in total, each awarding 1 million credits, and there is a 10 million credit bonus for collecting all 101 of these.

To claim your credits and complete the mission, return to Felice Dock and turn in this mission like you would any other mission, from the mission board.

You can repeat this mission as often as you like, but you must depart Felice dock and at least super cruise into the Meene system and return to receive the mission again.
