I swear the Cobra is the ship that fate means for me to pilot...

Being playing exclusively with mouse and keyboard lately. It's great, I have been flying a Hauler around doing some exploring to make some money and cosy up to certain factions.

But today, with 46 million in the bank, I decided to buy a Cobra. Now to get all the modules I wanted, I had to hop between two systems.

Now I won't lie. Landing the Hauler with a mouse was difficult. But... I try landing the Cobra with the same equipment... No problem whatsoever!

The universe is clearly telling me something.

From all the posts you've made so far it's clear that you really love this ship. Are you planning to get a tattoo or name your child after it?
(Please don't listen to me)

Tattoo, possibly. ;)

yep I must agree. The cobra is an outstanding ship. I have all the ship I want from asp to cutter, liner to FDL and I still find myself taking my cobra out for a spin quite a lot. :D.

if never tried keys and mouse though. hmm. that might be my weekend thing to try. :D

It's worth giving a go, as long as you remember it isn't technically an advantage. Actually for myself, the move to keyboard and mouse was mainly so I could play more comfortably. I've got very weak arms and the HOTAS was causing exhaustion. The mouse on the other hand lets me relax.

Agree! I`ve been playing the game since it came out on pc and still fly my cobra mk3 99% of the time. With all weapons, shield and srv installed and a full tank it has a boost speed of 591 and jump range of 37.4 after engineering. Love the ship!

You posting that message is PROOF that the Cobra Mk III is Elite's Millennium Falcon.

Thank you.

My progression in this game was from Sidewinder - Cobra - Asp Explorer. I sold my Cobra to get the Asp but I'm considering going back to the Cobra for a bit. The Asp is fun and it feels like you're flying a tank, the Cobra felt very nimble and quick. I left this game for over a year, when I left I was very much into exploration. When I came back I was 2k ly outside the bubble, I got to about 15k and now I'm at about 5k. Once I return and sell my exploration data, I should have more than enough money to outfit whatever ship for whatever, I think I will not be exploring so much for the near future.

I made most of my money with the Cobra with smuggling, I enjoyed blasting into space stations at full speed and then trying not to go splat against the far wall. Smuggling and piracy with the Cobra are very fun. Or at least they were when that's how I was playing the game.
