Elite: Dangerous - Jerk Moves - Ep. 5 - Pestering!

I was a bit worried about this, until the recent thread about destroying innocent Commanders:

With that, always remember how to high wake, and never fly without the rebuy!

I'm sure you expect responses like this, but players like you are why I do not play in open, thanks FDEV for solo play! I'm not much for PVP combat, I am terrible at it and I don't like criminals trying to steal what little money we earn in this game.

Respectfully,
WCJoker

Don't knock PvP Piracy. It's an actual thrill to take something from another player. There's practically nothing else like it in gaming. Practice your moves in Solo, then head out into the larger world.

From thumbnail i can see a pvp asp attacking a mostly harmless cobra. Color me not interested.

Edit: pirates are fit to disable not kill. Example is my clipper fit with containment and packhound missiles as well as some reverb torps. Can kill few things but good for pirating. Not sure what your fit is but after the above post i question the legitimacy of your piracy claim. Care to share your asp fit?

...yes. We also have a Viper against a harmless Asp, a Corvette killing a Dolphin, and a Corvette against a harmless Asp.

So right now, "Clarence Boddicker" has
-2xMultiCannons, Gimballed, with Overcharged, AutoLoader, and Premium ammo
-2xCytoscramblers, Focused, one with Scramble Spectrum
-2xEnforcers, Rapid Fire, AutoLoader, and Premium ammo
-64 Cargo
-FSD Interdictor
-HatchBreaker
-Cargo limpets
-Prismatic Shields
-3xShield Boosters each at least 63%
-1xHeatSink Engineered with 4 shots

It's the build in the last fight of the video.

Not disagreeing with you, except that vid wasn't displaying piracy.

A respectable fit. A bit concerned how you plan to stop your targets from running but at least you have hatch breaker and cargo limpets

I've got plenty of videos where piracy went well. But heck, when I can make a Dangerous Commander in a Python run away, and I'm in a pirate Cobra...someone needs to practice more. And no tears!

It's a fine line between piracy and griefing did you actually ask them to surrender their cargo first?

1. Griefing is when you do whatever to the same person over and over. That's not my thing.
2. If I have hatchbreakers I don't give any instructions.
3. If it's a piracy without hatchbreakers (like I'm out of HBs) I have some macros to send out on comms.

Youd be surprised how many limpets are saved and interesting conversations youll have when you inject a bit of charisma and verbal persuasion into the process.

If you don't send out any comms, how does the person you just interdicted know you're not just out to blow him up? I don't have strong enough shields to withstand several seconds of pummeling, so unless the interdictor messaged me before starting the interdiction, I just assume he's out to kill me and just boost and high wake.

I have an Eagle which I use for jetting around the bubble for various things.
It's pretty highly modified and it's probably one of the fastest ships in the game so running away is almost always a viable option.
In fact, I don't even bother jumping out of danger any more. I just open up the throttle and then wait until the attacker gets bored and jumps away.

Even so, I've noticed that I get "pestered" quite a lot when I'm flying it.
Pretty much every time I fly it, I'll get some "helpful" CMDR (usually in an FdL, FAS or Clipper) interdict me so they can offer "advice" to a newbie.

You can only inject what you have. For some it is charisma, others have to make do with hatch breaker limpets...

Almost everyone arms their ship. This is why. You're either planning on being the aggressor or being able to defend against an attack, and the fact that you don't want the attack makes it even more entertaining. It's a game after all. You can do PvE or you can do PvP. I don't think you can do "leave me alone" in Open though.

Yes you can. Just a matter of some firewall and network settings. Its not hard to play in open at a CG and be absolutely sure you don't get instanced.
