First-timer SC video, beware tho, this guy is known for his strong language (also the reason why I have him subbed :D)

very sweary video removed

My personal favorite....."obviously this is a game with a lot of trash in it" ^^

very funny, almost 6 years of development and this is all CIG can produce.

Pretty entertaining! Also, "love" the comments, its gonna fill up with toxic fanboys soon. Seriously, I dont even mention to ppl I know that I`m a backer coz they look at me funny....

I love the defense of the P2W nature of the game. Well you can just grind a mode that no one plays so that you can rent that $100 ship.

What year release are the true believers saying now?

It is really amazing, CR explicitly said that more money would make the game come out with more features and make sure it released on time. CR also said that the stretch goals were not feature creep and would not delay the game. But if you dared say that SC would not release in 2014 you were called a hater, then it was 2015, then 2016, now it is 2020 or something.

One week to go until Gamescom yay \o/

I wonder what lulz we can expect?

Also, grats to our senior games players. It's great to see you guys are still interested in games.

It's going to be of epic proportions. Lulzbuckets will be stuffed with delightful, squeezing lulz until they can be stuffed no more.

Just what form it takes though, we will simply have to wait and see. Gamescon is sure to be a very revealing event, and CIG are going to have to work very hard to show something decent off, but hopefully they will have made real progress and it'll all be well worth the wait.

However, if they have nothing to demonstrate, lulzbuckets around the world will literally explode in a fit of giggles.

No matter what happens, everybody wins.

Well, there is EvE.

But one thing is funny. SC fans bang on about goons dissing the game now, but should it ever be released, i'm sure the goons will be in game in numbers and doing exactly what you suggest.

Even EVE has Dev control on it. But SC was never going to be player run anyway.

According to the DS (yeah, come at me), CIG's pet streamers will be playing 2.6.3. It was pretty sad that they were stuck with 2.x at Gamescom '16, it'll be downright tragic if that's still the case a year later. Expect lots of fake grins plastered on the dead-eyed faces of people who have long since stopped "playing" SC for anything other than a paycheque.

My guess: 2.6.3 streaming, CIG will show either 3.0 press demo or something involving either trading or some mechanics said to be enabled by Item 2.0, perhaps some fancy ewar/radar gameplay or something else along these lines.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 23rd we’ll continue the tradition we started last year by streaming four days of live Star Citizen gameplay and interviews directly from the our booth at A-051 in Hall 9 on the Gamescom showfloor. Hosted by CIG and members of the Star Citizen Twitch Community, tune in to see the latest Star Citizen game play, interviews with developers and fans alike, and a special post-presentation broadcast on Saturday.

Time to start a sweepstake on the value of "latest" :)

This. Anyway, so busy with other stuff in my life that totally forgot Gamescom is next week, with ED beta launching tomorrow and Elite Meet during Gamescom too.

I suspect a sizeable chunk will be on mobiglass, and the never done before tech, and all the never done before marvellous things they can do with it in the next never achieved before major release... <sotto voce> 4.0... coming in a December... ...notsoontm

Yep, got to steer the focus towards the new shiny things if they want to cash in on those juicy ship sales. I'm not sure even the die-hards would stand for another presentation about planet tech and the "upcoming", slimmed down 3.0 (who am I kidding, they'd lap it up as always). There's probably some new gimmick Roberts has been cooking up behind the scenes at the last minute, like his take on the Nemesis system, that has nothing to do with anything they've ever talked about before, but which will come out of left field to wow the fans and give them a new excuse for the lack of productivity in the last year. Or a Morrow Tour 2.0, perhaps. It's starting to feel like I imagined the existence of Squadron 42, even though it was the only part of this project I was ever interested in.

I vaguely expect a SQ42 'reveal' with maybe a unicorn riding a sand-worm, and only vague talk of how this is all key for 3.0.

Either that or they reveal that CIG are developing their own version of MS Project, TsarProject. Eta early 2018, after which the toolset fidelity pipeline refactoring..... blah blah blooming blah.... buy an Idris....

A quote from my original refund letter sums up my experience of SC -

At first I was very optimistic for Star Citizen and watched the first 24 hour live stream, every Wingmans Hangar, 10 FTC etc. But as time has gone on I have become disillusioned. The game I thought I was backing, which was due to launch in November 2014, has seemingly changed massively in scope and shows no sign of ever being finished. Every date CIG has set for itself so far has been missed and I no longer have any confidence in CIG's ability to deliver within a reasonable timeframe. I also have no interest in large fleets, multicrew ships and Organisations, which seems to be the focus of the community.

And in the 2 years since then things have only got worse :O
I backed on day one for a multi-platform single player game with mods and private servers (for playing with friends). Three years later I looked at a wannabe Elite Eve Dangerous Online in pre-alpha state, a genre I'm completely not interested in.

I love the defense of the P2W nature of the game. Well you can just grind a mode that no one plays so that you can rent that $100 ship.
I did this to get a usable vehicle (the asset bundled with my package was broken most of the time) for exploring 2.0 PTU afterwards. These two days of "fun" gameplay (with half of the match results not registering on the account) told me all I needed to know about SC as a video game. After the one week "rental" expired, I filed my refund. (Later on they removed the rental option for "PU" completely to make you pay with real money.)

I fully expect them to examine what ED is bringing out in the 2.4 update and swiftly put together a very nice video showing that SC will have the same but with much more fidelity.

Of that I have no doubt.

It'll be followed a week later by the "Road to Lulzbucketry" documentary where Genuine Roberts waves his hands, puts his feet up on the table, and explains during a crisis meeting that they had to drop a few features because the animations weren't quite there, and that it would be unfair to the backers to release a sub-par product, and he's had a new Vision that includes base-building in Middle Earth.

Then we'll cut to scenes of various friendly devs happily talking about how they are building revolutionary things that are completely part of the core game, that they are not tech demos or on-rails experiences for display and marketing purposes only.

We'll go to Famous Actor and Developer Ben Lenslock, who explains in excruciating detail that CIG are working on something called a "button" - then the audio cuts out for fifteen minutes.

Closeup on the Handbag.

Ben Lenslock is back. Still no audio.

Genuine Roberts appears again and announces they need to pull the intended demo because it's on-rails for marketing purposes and won't appear in-game, so they'll just offer up a new ship sale because "that is what the backers truly want!"

Erin goes to the pub. Documentary ends.

Actually, aliens for the demo is a possibility. High hype factor without needing to actually show anything that will appear in the PU any time soon. Plus ED will have them, so SC must as well!
