There were, or all those debates a year or so back regarding how they were implemented were pointless.:O
Not saying they haven't changed things, but there were loading screens, well everywhere really.
You are not understanding what is being said at all, and declaring that you must be right because people talked about something.
The loading screens were always there, yes, but they were always a choice for intra-system travel. Yes, you obviously need to load a new system, but once in the system you do not ever have to see an instance (not an asset) loading screen. Let me break this down for you easily, and by the way it's been like this since the launch of horizons:
Your assumption: Dropping out of supercruise/going into super cruise is a "loading screen".
Truth: It's loading the instance and attempting to connect to players, then changing the travel method accordingly. In solo, it's still connecting to the server for other BGS data, probably, and changing the travel method. It's not loading the assets, the game world, or anything that is normally done in a traditional loading screen.
Your assumption: Hyperspace is a loading screen.
Truth: This is a correct assumption.
Your assumption: You need to see all these loading screens.
Truth: False for intra system travel, you can travel to anywhere in normal space. Station to surface, surface to other surface. The only thing limiting you is fuel and time. Only one of these can be mitigated. There's a video of someone traveling from a moon to a surface in 100% normal space. You were directly linked to it, and as far as I am aware you ignored it. If there wasn't server instancing the transitions from normal to super-cruise and back would be instantaneous just like in NMS and space engine.
As for scale, as a VR owner Elite is 100% 1:1 scale. I can get up and walk around my cockpit and everything is perfectly sized. Being in 2d increases the FOV which creates the illusion of scale being incorrect, but it is actually 100% correct.
Now, how does this relate to SC to keep this on topic? Glad you asked:
Your assumption: Star Citizen is somehow doing things differently
Truth: It's not. Or rather, it won't be when the game one day requires it. Assets will need to load in. If they load in during a 10m long hyperspace jump sequence then that's the loading screen. You'll need to connect to instances, and if that connection is masked that's still an instance loading screen because without loading this stuff you'd literally not have a game to play. To change this would require CIG to have changed the fundementals of how your computer handles memory, storage, and instructions. They haven't, because they haven't had access to your hardware.
