Hey everyone, due to the possibility of new items we are currently not tracking I've created a temporary Reporting Form.

Report: https://report.canonn.technology

Responses: https://goo.gl/MUVtmJ

If you would like to see our current list of items we are tracking / will be tracking in the future see our Universal Database here:

https://goo.gl/7nfBYX

This database will also allow others to use our spreadsheet data easier as it provides clean and sanitized data you can pull into your own google sheets.

Thanks,

Neat and tidy. Good work! :)

Not completely sanitised - some, like the GS data, has trailing spaces on important data like the system names.

Edit: I guess that's what you get for employing scientists rather than engineers :)

Hi all,

Sorry been away from the forum - been too busy grinding Broo Tarquin (insert rude joke) to beef up my Conda's huge beam (insert rude joke) and pulses. Got it all finished last night - that Fujin Tea run nearly ended me.

On the plus side, this multirole beast - the L.Z.S. Role Reversal - is now 32.5LY unladen, can scan a reasonable gas giant from 2.5Kls away, and can dispatch an Elite Conda in approx 20secs.

Of course - I know 'traditional weapons will be useless', it just had to be done - not least because I anticipate some naughty human factions will need bringing back in line as we discover the Thargoids' true motives.

So, anyway - who's going to be flocking to the first sign of Tharg action to get slimed?

Anybody else feeling a bit nervous being parked at Obsidian Orbital after dropping off a last run of cargo for the CG before downtime? I'm thinking it's a prime target for our new overlords later today, and without a shipyard there's no way to downsize to a fast runabout to escape!

Not as much of target as I am, parked here for the update! :D

Only if you think this is the FRift thread! :D

For some reason my forum theme changed which caused me to look at the bread crumbs. I was sure this thread was stickied in Dangerous Discussions. Maybe I've been out in the black too long!

And I'm fairly sure the megaships will only jump on Thursdays, so until then....... ;)

I am honking hard to get to Varati in time. I do not want to miss the G's maiden jump :)

I've had my first encounter with Thargoids, and they shot at me without provocation.

My Cutter was up to the task of first contact, and I'm still here. I had to leg it though.

Summary of the encounter in the spoiler tags below:

I found my Thargoids in a Non=Human Signal Source (Threat 5).
Location was Pleiades Sectore JCU-B3-3
I found a second signal source of the same type shortly after running away, so these appear pretty common.
I entered what looked like a wreckage site, with debris scattered.
A Thargoid ship showed up pretty much straight away and scanned me. I did not get powered down, so I was able to do stuff straight away.
You can target their ships, but it sends your system haywire and you get no useful info.
After scanning, the Thargoid deployed it's Thargon Swarm, and then turned around and flew away from me.
I followed, but then the swarm seemed to attack me. They ignored my shield, and my hull went to 95%.
I started being evasive and tried to run away.
I was mass locked.
My Cutter is faster than the Thargoid ships.
Another Thargoid showed up, but only the first seemed hostile to me.
At 82% hull, I did finally run.
I fired back a little, but didn't notice any real effect, given my scanner was giving me nothing.
I did honk the Thargoid with my discovery scanner, but I'm not sure if that's what provoked it.

Good luck all :)

It can happen, the black is a dangerous thing!

& that's bound to happen when you've just gone to find the last pack of custard creams!!
:D

The one that I met chase me down while I had a T'goid sensor almost caught me. It has destroyed Imp ships, and then started to follow me, I was barely made out through high waking. :D

BTW sensors are there as threat 5 non human signal sources.

Second encounter:

I was attacked without provocation of any kind this time.
Could be something to do with my cargo: Thargoid Probe, Thargoid Link, 4x Ancient Relic, 2x Meta Alloys.
The Thargoid moves away after deploying drones, and then the drones spin fast and go into attack formation.
Thargoid also shoots some sort of beam/pulse weapon which also bypasses shields.
Ran at 75% hull this time.
I think that's enough given it's 2am here.

Found two Non-Human Signal Source (Threat 5)-es in Asterope. First one only had human wreckage, the second one had an active alien ship. It didn't disable my ship, but it moved in to scan me as usual. I dropped a canister of Slaves for them, which the ship scooped up, and then continued to stare at me. I flashed the headlights, which made the ship turn red, and launch Thargons at me.
The weapons do partially breach shields, but I managed to get away. (Flying an Imperial Cutter with 863 MJ shields and 2,179 armour.) I launched a fighter to shoot at the alien ship, but couldn't even tell if I damaged it or not.

Update: second encounter went mostly the same at first, then I dropped some Progenitor Cells, they didn't scoop those up. The alien did scan the canisters from the wreckages, and scooped a Thargoid probe up. Afterwards, it promptly attacked me. So I guess they like some cargo, but not all.
