Where is the 2.4 Thargoid content?

On the other hand, I logged in 2.4 at Palin's base, no sign of alien activity.

Flew to Darnielle's Progress to check whether they have meta alloys, making sure to check all USS along the way. No sign of alien activity.

So I went back to bubble to continue on the Eurybia CG, still no sign of alien activity.

Maybe some players see it but so far it is definitely not obvious. Or it's random as usual, some players get multiple alien encounters while others have none.

Have you looked at a single USS on your way? Space is flooded with non-human signal sources in the Pleiades and there are consistant locations all around as well.

Yep, probably a bit too many from a realism point of view but it's all good.

The Galnet articles should start over the next few days. Have the CG's finished? Should all kick off then.

I think after the CGs finish we'll get a galnet saying 'thanks to the CMDRs the modules will now go into production and will be for sale soon!'. Which roughly translates to 2.4.01 next week. I'd be seriously surprised if we get them this week already.

While randomly flying around gives you a fair chance, if you want to find your best bet is to go to the system that headlined in galnet, in the launcher, and in the newsletter (both on the forums and via email): its really non-stop Thargoids there and its only 1-2 jumps from Maia.

There could be just a global inbox message saying something like - "All the brave CMDR's willing to help humanity, please (do something creative here)."

I really think there should be more pointers in the game, as not all people are spending 1000s of hours tracking everything.

Elite was never like that. Getting direction in here is much more subtile. Having read Galnet over the last weeks/months could make you move to Pleiades which puts you much
nearer to where the story is. While standing by in the few populated systems you might fetch a mission or two to get deeper into it.
Handholding and leaded game stories were not a part of any Elite Game in the past and it is not up to today.

Miklos

I didn't try very hard to find Thargoid encounters last night. I was docked in Merope, did a couple of random jumps from there, went to one distress call, and was instantly contronted, then made another jump, found a Non-Human threat, went to that and got blown to bits by them.

All in the space of about 20 mins :) maybe I was just lucky!

Vague? "ALIEN ATTACKS IN SYSTEM X' is vague to you?

Don't be disingenuous... There is nothing to see unless you enter a Threat Level 5 non-human thingy.

For a release hyped about alien combat, the return of the Thargoids. It fell flat on it's face.

I was expecting invasion fleets.. Not some already seen flower graphic hovering around a ship or 2.

I'll give kudos for the work on the galaxy map.

The rest is, as to be expected at this point, bug ridden.

After a 3 hour session all I can say is Im glad I wasnt hyped about 2.4...doesnt feel like an update at all, more a very small collection of hotfixes. To this day, Ive never so much as seen an alien...my record is untarnished and I still havent seen an alien. In fact, if I wasnt on the forums, I probably wouldnt even be aware they exist at all. No doubt they do but maybe they just shy around me or maybe the rng gods dont favor me...dont know and at this point dont really care. Im just glad its outta the way now so we can concentrate on what really matters...the QOL changes.

I almost feel sorry fer frontier if this is as good as it gets...the salt midweek has barely even started and no doubt will get much worse coming into the weekend. Almost ^

= Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55

You can check out the destroyed fleet from the Galnet artical, pick up some salvage then on your way back to "The Indra" Expeditionary (dockable) Mega Ship to cash it all in, look for Thargoids, because, people, they are literally everywhere in this system!

p.s. Very cool. I'm loving it.

If you're hanging around in the bubble, you'll see nothing. Not yet, anyway. Maybe in a later update. If you want to find Thargoids go hang out at the Pleiades Nebula.

OP, for once FD have been pushing the alien angle for ages.

Before the update you had several stories about Thargoid attacks, the Feds declaring them an enemy, Eds two part CG.

This has been going on for years, with Thargoid / Unknown probes forming a shell around Merope, Soontil etc.

My beef is that FD then forgot about 11 Powerplay leaders in the process.....

It took me 3 button presses to find this info in game:

Maybe head over there?
