I believe the new type 10 ship should be a combined effort of the Federation and Empire to combat the new Thargoid threat.

To this end it should only be available/unlocked by cmdr's who have BOTH Admiral and King ranks.

Has anyone thought that the Type-10 defender might be FDev trolling the beta?

2.3 beta had the salt mining. I haven't seen anything of a similar ilk for 2.4

I've heard it's the new starting out ship, and everyone will be given one for free.

It also includes the Unicorn addon ship kit that normally costs £4 and the ever so fetching fluffy dice cockpit addon £15, FOR FREE !

I dunno about a type 10, but it's about time the 'Super Rich' players had something to spend their money on... a Station, Planetary Base an Orbital Bar... I dunno, anything that costs money to buy/build and even more to run...
C'mon Fdev make us spend.

While I'm at it start charging for parking and Storage, and taxing profits... give us a reason to earn!

I hope this will be just a normal fun ship and not some kind of experimental super weapon (why would anybody choose the Type line of ships for a ship like this, lol)

well just been pulled out of warp in my asp, probably wasnt a good idea to fire on him but managed to get away with 17% hull and 7 mins oxygen.... nothing quite like tryng to cruise then dock with no HUD..lol

id previously assumed it was gonna be a combat support type 9, buuuuuut
you saying this made me kind of hope it mounts a class 5 weapon. just a type 9 where the entire ship is one ludicrous wave-motion gun. mount a size 5 plasma accelerator and go around coring thargoids in a single hit......and THATS when FD hits us with the thargoid star destroyed XD

My theory it is a type 9 loaded with hard-points and military slots. Will probably be $100-$110 mil stock buy. Or an SLF with anti-Thargoid guns.

For the "further money spending for the Super Rich" front. Fleet command and planetary/orbital base building.

I've seen it, it's smaller than Type-9 and can't land on large pad...

...

It's too tall for the garage.
