To those that say the Thargoids are too easy...

1. I probably can't do it.
2. I have ZERO interest in pew pewing a Thargoid. I was more interested in the "other meaningful ways to interact with them" that we didn't really seem to get.
3. I'm not saying they should be made stronger, nerfed, or left alone. I actually have no opinion either way.
4. I think telling people to shut up because you don't like their opinion makes you kind of an ***.

Saw a video on the forums earlier where a thargoid got solo'd by a Beluga. I think the Beluga still had over 70% hull when the Thargoid died. Just saying...

A properly built Beluga can be a very good combat ship. It is not incompatible to fall in the ranks of "Technological marvels". Of course, maybe the player piloting it was very good and it was due to his/her skill and not just the ship itself that he took so little damage.

4) Let me reword this for you: "Would you please so kindly consider the possibility that you may be wrong?". See? Is that better for you, sir? I actually prefer my previous version, somehow transmits the message way better.

Yup, actually all u need to totally own thargoid is FDL with dirty drives.
In this thread you gave link to, it was my first expirence. There u can watch how thargoid can easily be destroyed with half engineered FDL taking almost no damage. You don't need THECHNOLOGICAL MARVEL. All you need is FDL with tuned thrusters and you can just smash a SUPERIOR ALIEN HIGLY TECHNOLOGIALY ADVANCED SPACECRAFT. Do you think this is alright?

That thargoid didn't even have a swarm.

That the non-AX weapons are seemingly wholly ineffective, not just significantly less efficient, is among the worst of the possible ways to present the content. Thus, whatever challenge Thargoids currently present is too binary. Either you have the tools to down a predictable NPC foe, or you don't and you ignore them.

Agreed, I hate having to use such a constrained ammo weapon.

Thargoid difficulty seems to vary. Some seems easilly killable with a wing of 2-3. Others send a 4 man wing of 2 cutters corvette and conda running for the hills. I suspect the varous markings on the hull an indication of bug skill level.

The only thing I do not like is the low combat reward compared to the rebuy risk...

ps: killed in a 3 ship wing 3 thargoids today ( 2 and 3 million reward). It is a great challange for big ships like the cutter...)

All I saw in that video is that Thargoids haven't had the same correction that normal NPC's have had done to them which makes a full-reverse thrust tactic work better than anything else.

The problem is that the reverse trick in the vids shown have been Flight Assist Off, so you build speed quicker going backwards than normal, but FA-off without relative mouse (whcih i still dont understand) on means that you cant aim for anything after. The pilots soloing them are some of the best out there.

Any average human/CMDR is a higher threat than a poor space flower. As with any AI in Elite space flowers are extremely predictable which resulted in a meta tactic after a day. Considering they are apparently capable of destroying whole fleets and even capital ships as a whole their current power doesn't even meet the lowest expectations.
Engineers are a pretty common gameplay Element now. Sure they make stuff insanely powerful and unbalanced but thargoids got emp weapons and instant charge shields.
That said, I have seen no challenge so far. One doesn't even need full G5 mods (especially since AX can't be modded in the first place). Only a big chunk of armor and some mrps. That's basically about it. Face tank the thargoids as their damage output is lower than a NPC dropship.

Pathetic if you ask me and since you are already shouting at the pros here:

"To all the cry-a-boos claiming thargoids are dangerous and do not need a buff. Get the [insert noun here] good."

There are multiple solo kills right after release. Once their materials have a use they will be farmed like any other NPC.
Humans are more dangerous than thargoids in Elite. Fights against humans take significantly longer than against thargoids and humans use basic combat tacticts like flying evasive in contrast to any NPCs in Elite such as thargoids.

Some fair points.

Commanders that want a real challenge can find it easily. Find a maxed out Cutter and good luck trying to kill it.

For me the beauty of the Thargoids is in the audio visual spectrum. They really are something special with the spatial distortion, sleek motion and ethereal sounds.

True though you can say thargoids are much stronger than even a capital ship.

This is true but again nothing special. I find a wing of 4 Eagles thougher than a capital ship. Capital ships were never the reference of a "boss level endgame challenge".

I'd think capital ships were supposed to be the most powerful NPC you could find in the game unless we talk about stations though they really aren't NPCs and even if they were, they are indestructible.
