Thargoid attack near a station

Today the Thargoids started attacking pilots in front of the asteroid base Blackmount Orbital in HIP 17692.

Blood Brothers from Alrai pilots, along with numerous other brave pilots, defeated several attacking Thargoid ships.

Is this possible, baiting Thargoids within station range? And if so, can a station destroy a Thargoid without having xeno weapons? Thread might be click-bait, but I find the question / possibility fascinating!

I'd love to see Thargoid(s) baited to a station and then all ships hug the station and see what the station can do!

IF the Thargoids ever would attack a station it would be awesome, and I hope we will see total destruction of the station, however i don't believe we will see that.

Always makes me laugh how someone is smart enough to do this, but is then followed by a week of copy-cats thinking we'd be in shock and awe despite knowing its simply a kiting tactic.
