Cracked industrial firmware

Having the same issue with exceptional scrambled emission data spent all weekend looking for it never found one even though its marked very common

No! I only scanned the first one, no wonder I didn't get anything... OK so my next question is how the heck can you scan them all without getting destroyed? I find I'm peppered by a ship (and turrets) as soon as I get fined for trespassing (which occurs at about the same time I scan the first data point). If I run away the ship chases me to ends of the earth and I have to re-log to stop dying. If I hang around to scan the rest I wont last long again those star destroyers. :p Any tips or techniques appreciated. Thank you.

Onlyvscan data points, they are public and can usually be scanned legally.

Dav's Hope is a great place for a lot of things. CIF included. Usually a few Metallic meteorites kicking about as well, so you can pick up some cadmium as well.

They should have no security reaction if you just scan the beacons from the edges of the facility.
There are one or two exceptions on that list, but it's usually a cake walk.

There's a current discussion about this in Engineers. I find base running to be very effective. Bear in mind with the base runs that you have to scan ALL data points in a base to get the data, perhaps that is what you meant when you said you aren't getting any data from scanning. If you don't scan all points in the time allowed you don't get anything. I like these base runs, some people hate em. Good luck. :)

This.

Here's a guide of bases you can travel to:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...arming_for_cracked_industrial_firmware_in_ed/

And then in terms of how to do the base run scans, I found this tutorial most helpful:

That was first place I went to and didn't find CIF there. Also most of the materials laying around weren't rare.

I got 30 there a couple of days ago - took about an hour. You have to relog. You might feel it's cheating. Frankly I'd rather they went back to how it was, and slowly accrue them through missions.

I've been trying to get CIF for ages now and so far after hours of searching only found 3. I later found this guide - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...OnBf-FL5BS1HcAmFEYZ-zYj_qI/edit#gid=947245412 and have been to 5 systems (including 100% drops) in the list and haven't found any CIF but also didn't receive any data at all when scanning data points. Am I missing something? :(

Like Vardaugas said, check make sure your data storage is not full. Also, this:

This list usually produces about 50-60 CIF and MEF per run, every couple of weeks (replenish time). I always skip the two long-distance-from-system-entry bases. As can be seen from the diagram at right all the bases are the same type & layout but I prefer to park near the last data point and drive around the base to the first data point so that when I am finished scanning I turn directly away from the base and there is my ship. Park your ship about 1 Km away to avoid ship trespass so that the guard ship will ignore your ship. You SRV will also be ignored so long as you avoid the high-security zone clearly marked inside the base. Only 4 data points per base to scan and four minutes (from the time you scan the first data point) to scan all the data points. Simple. Easy. o7

Easy way is to either do Surface Data missions or just do what I did a few days ago, look for MFE's in Medium Security bases in any +, ++ or +++ that you find that aren't perimeter protected. I did less than 10 bases and had so many CIF's I had to purge them after 40...

It took about an hour I think. Menu logging from Solo to Group to Open. I saw the Imp fighter circling around but ignored it the first time, relogged etc. and when I went back into Open the fighter was still there, I was just about to look if any rare goodies popped up (none...I have all the 'apparent' rare's it drops there anyway) when the bloody fighter got me. I relogged back in, landed and realised I had no SRV so went to find 1, luckily there was a System 1 or 2 jumps away that stocks them. So, in retrospect it was about 45 minutes doing the log shuffle dance and the rest looking for the closet system to rebuy an SRV. Its a chore yes, but eventually they will drop, just make sure you delete all the data that it gives you, unless of course you need it. The Co-ords have already been posted above.

Since last update, no cif in mission rewards for me at same stations that i used to find at least 2 missions daily. But i m tired of this insane grind so i dont care, even if i havent got the god drives.

To give this an End

here is all the Information you need far better than doing the stupid thing on Dav´s Hope, play your game the fun way don´t go for relog grind things defenitly destroys your fun.. ill promise

although the is a very usefull tool for it

https://github.com/neotron/EDPathFinder/releases

Use the tool, have fun will , you will get CIF and more, myself bookmarked about 5 locations max 25 Lightyears form Shinatra Dezra away, you can get everything for grade 5 crafting there!

Greatings Alex

And to end that, I have done the +++ base raids and had 1 drop of CIF, about 4 MEF and a few of the rest I cant remember. Remember that base raids are done once, then you need to wait 1 week to do the same base again. By the time you have flown to all the destinations, gone into OC, dropped to glide, landed, gone out in the SRV, scanned the terminals, got back to your ship, took off, flew to the next system in the list, done all the same thing again you could have 40 or so CIF. For me time is paramount in gaining as many mats/data as I can quickly, I have seen sooo many players come in from not long ago and overtake on doing stuff, RL stuff does get in the way. So, if me, and any others who want to get stuff quicker rather than later then I would say Dav's is quicker.

I am "blazing my own trail".

K get the point Dav´s effective agree if you want it quick try Dav´s but RNG can be a A..hole too at least it was for me at Dav´s. On the other time at bases stuff happens like dropping 3 x 3 CIF after the scan and that gives me a kind of satisfaction. MEF you can get from there too, not at Dav´s kind of easy to say for me cause my stuff is already good rolled and hunting for new is pure luxury. Hope the will come back soon at missions, so we can get them from time to time again and dont have to do this discussions.

btw. Use science ++ on low security systems. They wont shot at you and there is now climbing.

Play your game as you like Commanders. o7

I sounded rude, or came across as rude, I apologise for that. But if I could get the CIF from +++ bases and they would drop more often I would, you are right in the comment that it is more fun. Its just the luck of the drop most times and just lately its me getting the bad drop, mediocre rolls at the engineers too.

Np wasn´t rude at all cause all your arguments are right, now i have to check Dav´s again to over eng. my specialised shield cell bank :)
, still having the dream to shot a 7A without useing a heatsink.
Hope that the new Eng. mechanics in 2.4 will give us more freedom not to do that much "Grind" Stuff and more enjoyment in gameplay.

Mat rewards in missions does seem broken. I sometimes run them for CIFs, not so keen on base scans, but very few lately.
Despite numerous jumping about and board checks, I've had one single mission, to Colonia, for a CIF.

Given up, went to Dav's, and wahey got 18 with an hour or so
