I'd suggest that OP take a break and come back to the game later on in Gamma. There will be more to do and a lot more balancing. Ship prices have changed already from what they were. Yes, it does take time to get the bigger ships, and that very well may be tweaked. Mining and exploration have yet to make it in. Missions are being massaged. More ship types have yet to be released.
Basically if the game isn't cutting it for someone now, just give it a rest... don't knock yourself out trying to amass wealth in a beta.

Dude, asking a forum how to get your money back is futile. You need to contact Frontier direct but as others have said you have received what you paid for so a refund is highly unlikely.

Yeah, fantastic isn't it.
No more having instant gratification for doing a few clicks of visiting a friends farm, actually have to work at getting new equipment.

If anything I find the progress to be way to fast in this game currently...hopefully it will take a lot longer to work yourself up to the biggest ships in the final game. Weeks maybe even months...
When more ship customization becomes possible (things like drives or maybe slightly expanded cargo with cutbacks somewhere else) it should be possible to still feel "progress" even if you still have the same ship for a longer period.
While testing the game it needs to be speed up though so that we have a chance to try out all the ships, so it's fine for the moment...
If the OP doesn't like the game that's fine of course. It's not going to be for everyone.

As an old codger the hold-your-hand nature of most games does my nut to be honest. A lot of them tell great stories and look amazing (Last of Us) and then the odd gem comes along that reminds me that games that I personally like are a challenge (Dark Souls anyone?).
I remember when all this was fields/games were hard/music was better (delete as appropriate)
