Will it always be this easy to earn money in game?

In PB1, PB2 and now in Standard Beta 1, it has been very easy to earn a lot of money through trading.

There are far more decent trade routes now than there has ever been, and once you have found one, it literally only takes a short amount of time to earn enough to buy the next ship.

I can see how people have Lakon Type-9's already along with a few million credits.

So - my question is to those with DDF access; do you know if it will always be this easy to earn money in the game?

Don't get me wrong - I'm quite happy with the way it is, because it doesn't feel like a grind. And once I have enough money, then I have an entire galaxy to explore.

I'm just trying to get a feel for if the process is accelerated at the moment for Beta, or if this is what we will be getting at release...

It's probably a bit like any other MMO or MMMORPG, in that it's not particularly hard. It's more about the hours you invest.

Even though I have loads of credits now, I really hope it will be harder in future releases.

I would hope that earning credits is a little harder when we have the finished game. I also think a lot of the ships and equipment are too cheap, hopefully it'll all be tweaked to be harder/more expensive come release.

Reposting but making money in this game... tho "easy" .
You'll still be WORKING for a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY longtime.

Just think about it.
Let's say you want an Anaconda. They cost almost 4 million credits.
For every pirate you kill you get about 1000 credits max.
That's 4000 pirates kills , if not 6000 considering how some only credit you 500 credits.

If you choose the hauling route.
You get 5000 credits for 1-2 jumps courier contracts.
Thats 800 courier missions.

Ok lets say you're real good and lucky with the trading.
You earn about $10k per trade.
That's still 400-300 trades.

The fact is... earning money the old fashion way is an INCREDIBLY SLOOOOW progress.
To make matters worse , if you take the combat route you risk losing your ship flying something you don't quite enjoy.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I yet have to find a profitable trade route :(

Perhaps a silly question, but have you checked the trade routes on the map? You have to drill down into the categories to see individual trade items that are being exchanged. Those will net you some good cash.

Mine:

Beagle 2 (Assellus), pickup the Seperators tech. Sell to Dahan Gateway in the next system. Then I just jump one more system over to Morgor (empty hold) and pickup Gallite. Take that back to Beagle 2 for a nice profit (just over 10k in a Hauler).

PB1 easy? I thought that one was pretty hard. At least it took me 2 weeks to get a Cobra. To me 2 hours (ok, 4) in this version.

I think in the final release thing will be much harder.

Errr... no? If you make 250 credits per item, a very modest profit margin as it stands, in a Sidey you will indeed be making many many many trade runs, since you can only fit in 4 tons of cargo.

Lakon Type 9 has a cargo capacity of 440 tons. Which means that with the above item you will make 110 000 credits per run. So to get a Anaconda, you will need about 36 runs. Not that hard to do, eh?

What this game needs is better money sinks. More expensive fule comes to mind. Regular ship maintenance as well. Various fees, from docking, crew payments, ship storage, etc...

But everyone, keep in mind this is a beta - it is VERY likely current prices, both ship and market, are NOT final or even real. They did make things intentionally easy in the previous installments so that players can make money easier and get better ships quicker (and test them).

Is the Lakon Type 9 free?

that qoute of yours doesnt make sence , only if you stay in a sidewinder all the time. you arnt working a very long time , its a very short time. but this is good in beta testing ofcourse

so atm i say its all good , in final game would be a dissapointment too see ppl in the space cows within a month

Nope. But the hauler is only c18000 cr(someone correct me if not), and that quadruples your profits compared to a sidewinder. Then it's a fairly short jaunt up to the cobra which doubles your profits again. And so on through the shipyard.

Pretty much this. Face it, as it stands, it is very easy to safely and quickly make a ton of credits. We already have a "raise your hand if you're a millionaire" thread.

But as I said, it's a beta. Things are bound to get tweaked. So don't defend an obviously imbalanced system. You're not here to defend the game, you're here to beta-test it, which involves breaking it and telling FD how you broke their broken-ass beta. ;)

This is totally wrong. :D

I was earning 7.5k per run in my Sidewinder.

50k per run in my Hauler...

And an easy ~150k per run in my T6 Lakon (that's 600k+ per hour!!)

I've found that the "deliver x to y" missions have a rather high profit for people in sidewinders - so long as you can fit the cargo and if you can make the distance in the jumps. Trading in a sidewinder is a bit of a non-starter without a very juicy route at the start. Hauler perhaps

I love it this way. I find it one of the best upgrades in the gameplay.
It makes trading not feeling grinding anymore.
Even if you can play for short times, you can make really progress.
New ships even come in site. Keep it like this please!
