With just over 26 hours to go, here are the current standings:
Free For All continues to be the home of the Diamondback Explorer. Newcomer Cmdr MentyPython, apparently a bit of a DBX fan, completed a steady trip around the course in
Lewis & Clark to come home in just over 38 minutes. Further ahead, Cmdr Alec Turner improved his time in
Bananery Fandango by exactly one minute to come within sight of the podium; it's a pity he doesn't have the time to further challenge the top three.
It continues to be the case that there is rather more action among the Adders. We welcome two more Buckyball newcomers, Cmdr Rob Anybody of
Black and Cmdr Ryczypior of
Hermaszewski Race, slotting into 14th and 10th places respectively with times of a little under the hour. Between the two, Cmdr Letchferrit has returned in
ThunderBus to improve his time by over five minutes, breaking the one hour mark to achieve a time of 56 minutes exactly.
A little way ahead, Cmdr Inodoro Pereyra returned for another attempt in
Mendieta, improving his time by more than two minutes, although frustrated by errors at one approach that he felt could easily have meant another two minutes. Finally for this update, Cmdr Ozric has arrived on the course in
Slackbladder, setting a healthy initial time of just under 46 minutes to come tantalisingly close to a podium spot.
One commander, who I shan't name, used the phrase "loop of shame" in their submission; which reminded me to dig out the following educational video, and to remind people that it's not a loop of shame if it's deliberate, and looping deliberately is faster
