Elite is doomed?![]()
Nah, a certain disruptive forums user is really a sockpuppet account created by Chris Roberts*
* - This is actually untrue, but the idea appeals to my sense of humour.
Ah, I see, sometimes I think it could actually be more than one account.![]()
Now I'm thinking that there never was a real story, just a desperate plea for attention![]()
That's a good percentage of all threads, and all of my Twitter posts.; )
The picture suggests that you have a question on the topic of taking an edgy selfie whilst wearing 3D glasses, smoking a , and typing on ancient technology, all the while being in a war zone.
And a post like this suggest an art critic, whom don't have the slightest idea what he doing and what the other really meant, so he is (mostly) talking high minded stupid to make a living. But you know what I'm really intrested in? What the art's actual creators saying about something like this? I suspect... Well? The picture suggests that you have a question on the topic of taking an edgy selfie whilst wearing 3D glasses, smoking a , and typing on ancient technology, all the while being in a war zone.
The general internet rule (I just made it up) is "Don't post a question you don't want to hear the answer to" and "Don't post an opinion unless you're prepared to hear counter-opinions"
As far as forum goes, the additional rule is "Don't bait" i.e. don't post deliberately controversial stuff.
You missed the 'don't talk about political related stuff' either warning. In hindsight pretty much anything is political, so what were are left with is mostly hot wind about not much of import, sort of like the chit-chat around the bingo table at the knitting clubWho cares if the world is going to junk? just plug your ears and sing la, la, la and don't think, or talk, about it amongst others.
Having given that critique i would suggest the OP probably has a post that would cause all the issues they are concerned about so in hindsight, in this forum as it is right now, it probably would not go down well?
Edit: ah balls, maybe i shouldn't have posted this either......
Where's the harm in indoor gardening? I've got a lovely Christmas cactus that's just finished blooming... about the only kind of gardening you can do in this beastly weather!
And yes. If I wanted to troll someone that badly, they wouldn't know they'd been trolled. At least not until I turned round and told them so. (I've done it before, though not here.)
Cactai arent illegal under UK law...they also take years to force into blooming stage and dont really do much fer aches and pains ^
Ah Im dissappointed now with no fun question asked...Ill assume yer scared of the mods which is a shame...hoped fer more but now it just looks like an attention thread ^
Ah, I think I get your drift. (Cacti can be good at causing pains, but that's why I avoid the spiny ones.)![]()
And no, I'm not afraid of the mods at all* - I just found that the advice I was given confirmed my own doubts, and decided that I was better off not kicking the wasps' nest for the sake of curiosity. The question I had in mind likely would not have played too well with the community, even though I'd written it very carefully so as to avoid breaking rules. I can live with that - in real life I've often asked blunt and to-the-point questions which, whilst fair and legitimate, caused the people around me to form and express less-than-positive opinions, and the answer was not worth the consequences.
So if you want to call that "attention seeking", that's your perogative; as a relative newcomer here, and as the question I had in mind was one I'd never had cause to ask in any other forum I've been a member of, I felt that my own misgivings warranted seeking advice rather than risk upsetting other users or igniting a flame war. We can agree to disagree on that, though.
* - although I do respect their advice, the forum rules, and the time taken to engage with users who are genuinely seeking their help.
