Out of interest, what would you consider constructive that isn't "PvP makes a concession for you on every front"?

But if we got rid of the PvE biased threads as well.. that would get rid of the other same dozen or so members arguing over the very same topic over and over.
The more that threads like those are almost encouraged really doesn't do the forum or community any favours. It doesn't change anybody's view or gameplay style. If anything it is more than likely making possible future players who read this forum think "Nope i'm not getting this game if this is what it all about" worth a thought everyone.

Why?

The NPC's don't use colourful metaphors, you can play away from the general public - so sensitive eyes don't see or read anything grown up.
As for "violence", Tom and Jerry cartoons have more graphic depictions of violence than Elite: Dangerous.

The game only has a PEGI 7 because that is the lowest it can be rated.

Are you in the UK?
As I believe Steam will show the local rating and I think the US system only goes as low as 13+ for online games.
