I am going to buy the FGS. I am thinking of loading it out as a missile boat just for kicks.

yeah, but with Beams you'll still drain the PD in under 10 seconds, or less.
I cheaped out and grd 3 engineered a C7 PP. It's adequate, but then again, I only have a C6A shield generator (which I'm starting to wonder if is enough, but don't really want to give up the cargo space to fit a larger one).
Except anything needing a C8 PP will drain you C6 PD really quickly.
But it's your money....
Flown both.
FAS, flies brilliantly, good hull tank and can hit.
FGS, flies like a slightly demented brick, alright hull tank, good shield options and hits very, very hard.
I miss the FGS..... Might have to bring it back one day.

I’ve played in all 3 for various stints and honestly I love them all, I really struggle to pick a favourite...
The FAS feels the easiest to ‘live’ in, it has the jump range advantage over the other two and it’ll carry more than a Cobra3/Viper4 (ships that other CMDR’s are perfectly happy to live in). I love running the Fed ships with the new 5D repair limpets, their modules are very well protected and being able to repair hull on the fly is just awesome.
My Dropship is my missile boat, nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than unleashing 4 seekers into a pirates face. I use my Dropship for transporting rebels and prisoners, it feels very nice in that role. Can also be a nice mining ship but I tend to keep it tucked up in Fed territory so its jump range doesn’t start to bother me. Great salvage ship as well.
The Gunship is just peculiar. It gets a SLF which is always nice but it’s mobility is poor and just two small hardpoints more than the Dropship....internals also lack variety...

Can the Li Yong Rui discount stack with the CG discount? If so might be worth it to store the modules I bought and modded already for the gunship, just to rebuy the base ship at a much lower cost (and thus lower rebuy). Or will they not stack?
The T10's utility is in storage to be quite honest.
Hardly worth the parts its holding onto when compared to any of its alternatives.

If in doubt buy the hull and take some bits of your FAS and then decide. That way nothing g lost. I like my FGS it's a tank and the SLF combined with its guns give it serious teeth. I have not yet had pleasure of FAS but IF it is 35% off I will buy one and store till I can afford to spec out
