They don't take the work we invest in this game serious...

As far as I am concerend if I enjoy what I do, then I don't coinsider it work.

Doing something for a reward, in whichever form it comes, is, per definition, work. You just don't consider it as such. You are the one that defines if it's work or fun.

And as for your running analogy, I'm not sure how relevant that is.

Same difference. It is either a horrible ordeal or a great fun. However you consider it.

Any time I prepare to sell a ship, I go over the dialogue box like one would the last line of a contract. I want to make certain I'm not about to sell my soul for some magic beans. When I'm absolutely certain what I'm doing won't leave me with the wrong ship, then I confirm it. I understand it's frustrating to make a mistake, especially in a game that's more than a bit unforgiving of them. Still, always read that last line carefully.

Why do all that when we can instead resort to an attitude akin to Republican Capitalism?

"The game allowed me to do it, therefore it's the games fault!"
"The law allowed us to lend to people predatorily, therefore it's the law's fault! Oh and we need LESS regulation, too!"

Accidentally selling a ship is easier than some think and the key word is accidentally. I did it myself with a pre engineer conda. I know a couple guys who derped on fully engineered ships.
Basic point is accidents happen. Other modules have a buy back option. Ships should too. That simple feature would solve the whole issue. I don't think it's too much to ask, easy to implement I would think, saves fdev negative customer service interaction...seems like a win win

(No, that's no 2nd try to get my ship or my virtual money back. Not interested anymore. I'm interested in a SOLUTION)

OK. Read the words on the screen. There you go, problem solved, have a great Christmas.

(And please would the godlike creatures that never made an error in the game hold back from commenting? You're not human anyway and as such have no right to comment. Thanks!)

...and I wouldn't even have bothered replying to you were it not for this line. See you didn't mean what you wrote there. Let's deconstruct it a little; what you meant was 'I know I should have read the pretty clear warnings but I don't want people to point that out to me because it will ruin the vibe of my pity party' so instead, you conflated never having sold a ship by mistake with some claim to perfection, which then allows you to dismiss any comments to that effect on the basis that the person making them has an unrealistic expectation of what is reasonable.

I've made plenty of errors in the game and I'm far from perfect. I've never sold a ship by mistake though.

Actually paying attention to what you (figuratively) are doing also helps massively in this respect too...

I'm always super careful in the Shipyard for this very reason.
What would be good, is an extra dialog that offers to store any engineered modules before completing the sale.

That would be triple redundancy on the transaction.

Its not that hard delete your ship. Same text box as swap ship. I remember when you can delete all of your progress in menu->new game. Imagine situation when you have friend on your comp and start new game.
No password needed, no special warning or writing nickname.

Dont blame OP blame devs, its common, devs should fix it. I bet there are dozens of players with similar problem. Even i almost delete ship because i was sleepy and I did not read the text.

Majority of you will stop playing this game when something like this happens.

So, you pressed a button without reading it, didn't read the warning that came up, pressed another button without reading it, and it's FDEV's fault that the game did exactly what you told it to.

Riiiiight.

Just so I can sleep tonight, could you please confirm you don't work at a nuclear power plant?

Devs fault, not directly but yea. They should fix that a long time ago. I remember posts like this year or more ago.

He play 1859h , probably changing ships 9999 times and one time dont read the text because he do it automatically without reading.

See post #23. Not at all the "devs" fault.

We don't need 100 more confirmation dialogs added to the game because someone "did it automatically without reading."

ahhhh .. just look at other games. Password, writing nickname,, who say +100 confirmation (by the way most stupidest idea). Also "we dont need", you cant speak for others. Ask someone who make that mistake and delete ship/account.

What a weird thread, mistakes can be done in every game ever. It sucks, we all do it sometimes, but thats just how it is, going around trying to blame everyone but yourself isn't gonna make anything better.

Agree completely here. The game DOES confirm whether you want to sell/buy enough times already.

FD is not responsible if someone "accidentally" sells their ship.

The llama agrees with you............

.............. and rates this thread as pointless.

What a weird thread.............

No; pointless. The llama is not impressed.

How many warnings would you expect?

I mean it really isn't going to matter how many warnings or obstacles the game puts up, there is always going to be someone that can't be bothered to read whats directly in front of their face & then they will come here & complain that it's not their fault that they did it...

Can the Devs fix human error on the part of their players? As human beings we seem to find all manner of ways to up literally anything & blame someone else for it.

I also remember posts like this from a year and more ago. Thing is though, I don't remember seeing anything like as many of them within the last year which strangely enough coincides with the menu being changed so that it is in fact more obvious than it used to be.

It doesn't matter where the limit is set, you can have seven sequential menus and someone will still click 'yes' when they meant 'no' if they're not paying attention. There comes a point where the game has to pass the baton over to personal responsibility.

As for OP's suggestion that we have to type a safe word every time we want to sell something, I can only assume that I've played far fewer computer games than I thought because far from it being some industry standard that FDev are lagging behind with, I can't recall a single game where I've had to do it. I would also have to say that degree of nannying is actually likely to lead to exactly the problem OP had; not reading things properly and trusting the game to wipe your backside for you.
