Ships Krait will be nice ship it seems

The new design makes it look a bit like a Mamba perhaps? Except with wing-mounted guns rather than a nose-mounted one. Bring back the Mamba!

:D S

There's a thread somewhere that makes a size estimation based on the cargo scoop and fighter bay sizes. The Krait coms in near the Asp in terms of size.

For me that model looks like some kind of ground attack ship that needs fighter defense to fly in a squadron, something like a medium bomber

looks to me that it is going to be a more bigger vulture in comparison...wonder how long it will take before griefers and gankers make use of it....

So,
seeing on the screenshots, we now know,
Krait will have 3 seats,
hangar bay,
and is at least of Asp E size

and a cockpit like Malic wished for a new imperial ship

i know it is too much work but, how cool if the krait launch came with krait SLF as well which would be more akin to the canon krait.....

Unless this ship is total garbage, it stands a fair chance at becoming my new primary vessel.

I love SLFs, and would appreciate an SLF capable medium ship that isn't the FGS (which is an awesome ship, but not my cup of tea) or the Keelback (which is a bit anemic in both exploration and combat capabilities).

I am thinking it will fill the big DeLacy gap between Cobra and Python, pretty good chance will support SLF. Probably a little fightier than an AspX but reduced jump range. Could this be sort of like a non-rank-locked FDS that supports SLF? I am expecting it to be cheaper, not as well-armed as FGS but maybe a bit faster and more agile.

I don't expect that FDev will be adding new ships that are unbalanced with existing ships but more choices in the midrange would be good. I am sort of expecting the Chieftan to be a bit higher end medium pad, more competitive with FGS/Python/FdL.

What I noticed, is that from the rear it has similar thruster arrangement as the Tapian. Which suggests a Lakon ship, so I'd hazard a guess it will be built for the Alliance to provide them a range of combat vessels.
This would be bad news, as it means it will get a Lakon instrument bench.

Still this is the ship I'm most looking forward to out of all that have been announced.

Apparently the Tapian is actually a deLacy design. Who knew?

given how long it usually takes them to implement a ship....

those scenes they have shown have been only untextured rough kitbashes, far from actual usable models.

So I assume no-one has a Scooby when it will arrive?

I'm looking forward to this one a lot. A lot more than the T10 anyhow.

since i just rewatched a anouncement, i would say, you shouldn't expect this ships vers soon.
the chieftain was already in a much later development stage then the Krait, and he said something about final next year.
we can expect at least one ship per size for the alliance to be released - and the Krait was explicit mentioned as independent from that.
