Paintwork at 0%

The paintwork is at 0% and does not refresh when I pay for paintwork in maintenance, I have tried to change ships,
buy new ship and change back, my Cutter looks like a old junkyard car, any magic solution to this problem ?

Update: disregard, there seems to be option to have 0 or 100%, did not know this.
( been around since beta ( facepalm ))

Raise a bug report once you've double-checked you are doing the right thing in-game & it has no effect.

Going to advanced maintenance & selecting repair paint to 100% should fix it, buying a new ship would have no effect on any existing ship.

Are you sure you do it right? You have to use the arrows to get it to 100% and then click to confirm.

Never really thought about it before but this might have it's uses.

The T10 paint looks awful at 0%.
By that, I mean it doesn't look like worn paint. It just looks like some panels are a different colour.

I might try restoring the paint 10% at a time, until I get a suitable tatty look.

Actually, no. I won't, cos I simply don't care enough.
If it's not an Imperial ship, the paint just never gets fixed.

If you're a professional smuggler, you learn to keep your ship shiny. ;)
If you appear in front of your station in a rusty Elite version of Millenium Falcon with parts missing, every cop in the area will stop eating donuts and start investigating. If you jump in in a new shiny Clipper and casually waltz in, nobody cares. :)

its my only grind,

all my ships to zero ......

cutter looks fine

From the title thought the OP meant he had managed to wear all the paint off his ship. That would have made a great screenie :)

I've actually worked a bit to get some of my ships down to 0% paint, and they look great that way.

Others I work to keep them maintained and pristine-looking.

I'll share a few when I get around to it.

It's a real shame you can't select a figure between 0 & 100%.

I really liked mine when it was at 47%

Well, that was disappointing. [sad]

I found myself in my old Keelback, last night, and the paint is at 0% so I thought I'd have a play and see if I could tweak it but, as Gunnerbill says, it's either 100% or no change at all.

I thought, maybe, I'd missed something because the cost does scale with the required work at a rate of Cr1 per 1% so I thought there must be a way of setting intermediate values - maybe by clicking the "up" arrow to get 100% and then the "down" arrow to decrease the amount a bit at a time or something.

But, no.
It's either 100% or no change at all.
I suppose that makes sense. After all, it you got somebody to repaint your car you couldn't really expect them to be able to "half-repaint" it.

In a world where you can get your ship painted in an entirely different colour without altering the damage to the paint you might think a partial-repair would also be possible as well though.

I ave a green Cutter and love it, however, I’m having a hard time getting the paint to come off. I fight all the time on CNBC, as I’m working on Elite in combat. 50% deadly now, and my goodness it is taking a very long time!
