Anyone taking Thursday off work for the Beta?

I will be working from home tomorrow so I don't have to travel to/from work which will save me a couple of hours, starting early so I can finish early. If the beta becomes available before I finish at least I can start the download. :)

I usually work from 9pm onwards.

So yes...yes I will be taking a day off. And seeing as I am my boss I will take into consideration the... exceptional circumstances. And not fire myself :D

I'm lucky in that took 'early semi retirement' about 6 years ago, aged 45, and only work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays these days. Tuesdays and Thursdays are days on which I either - play ED (all day on rainy days), build hyper-bikes (rainy winter days), ride said bikes (sunny summer days), or build engineering projects in my garage, like my ED motion chair - now building v5 6DOF version.

Tomorrow though Commanders, I'll be in Beta.

Not me. It will take me all of Thursday just to download the 16GB on my farm town USA internet connection, lol.

From memory, most E : D beta releases end up with people taking a day off, getting progressively frustrated on the forum during the day before eventually downloading at 6pm.
I've been advised by Cmdr Thrust to take the following day off for best results. (He should know as he gets the beta extra early).

I would, as others have said, be wary about taking a day off just for ED Beta. As others have said there is no time for the release and even if there was stuff can happen that pushes the release back. Take the Friday off instead and then enjoy a long weekend of action!

I'm a self-employed/sole proprietor IT guy who works from home. So I can keep an eye on the status of the beta at my leisure. If I catch myself skiving off to play the beta, I can always fire myself ohwaitno.

Not got Thursday off but I did book Friday off and in the reason for why I'm taking the day off I stated that ED:Beyond Beta 1 is out.

Got the OK for it as folks in the office know this is my game :)

I wouldn't take off anyway (work is important) but if I have the times right I wont have to.

Beta gets released around 6pm UK time (= noon my time)
I get off between 1 and 2pm on any given day.
By the time I get home most of y'all will be done sucking up the bandwidth and I can get my d/l on whilst perusing the salt threads here.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

Don't take Thursday off. Stuff gets postponed all the time, and you'll feel like a right mental midget when it comes out on Friday.

Same here - I'm in the US west coast, so I get to read about people's dowload problems while I'm at work, and by the time I get home everything's already been resolved ;)
