So I would be interested to know what this years "paid content" is supposed to consist of.
Squadron Carriers perhaps? We just don't know yet.

There's a lot of hostility here towards a reasonable question, that has been asked in a polite manner.
In answer to the question, Frontier have said they will be releasing paid-for content this year that will be covered by the Lifetime Pass...
Was just thinking, its been a while since someone complained about this. At least a week!
LEP?

Since "Beyond" is now apparently Elite Dangerous 3.0 what exactly am I getting for my LEP?
If that £120 also covered the price of the base game you're up to £80 already - base game being £40 on release and Horizons also being £40 on release. You'll need one more update worth £40 and that will have fulfilled the £120 price tag you payed. Any subsequent payed updates after this are completely free icing on the cake.
For a 10 year plan of updates I'd say you got an incredibly fantastic deal seeing as how your £120 will potentially be fully covered in the 3rd to 4th year of the game. That means you're not even halfway to the full 10 years and your purchase will already have been fulfilled in terms of money spent for content delivered. I'd be fairly happy with that if I was around at the time when I could have gotten the LEP for £120.

Now I don't know if this has been raised before but I remember them saying there would be stages of "updates" free of charge but that there would be new paid content post 2.4 so I was surprised to note that this beta is for v3.0 of Elite Dangerous. Therefore I am wondering exactly what we LEP purchasers are going to receive this "season / whatever" in return for our not inconsiderable (in my case anyway) outlay?

I am just wondering why my £120 in 2015 (in addition to my base purchase) has only covered me for one update in over 2.5 years of a supposedly 10 year plan. So I would be interested to know what this years "paid content" is supposed to consist of.
Well according to the wording from the store, as far as I can remember it, it was said to grant access to all future seasons.
Now if Horizons will be the only and last season, who can tell besides FD? There will be no legal claims for LEP owners if that would be the case, there was also never a 10 year plan, just an assumption by dbobe that he can imagine to support this games development for 10 years, not a factual statement that this will be the case.
Seeing how the season model got removed and development has slowed down these seem to be grim news for all LEP folks.
tl;dr: might as well spent those 120 bucks on ice cream
Oh someone asks very reasonably about the elephant in the room. Quick lets tell him that its a ten year plan so he must wait until 3311 lol.
Lets all forget that horizons "season" lasted for.. lets put it this way: frontier's 4 seasons of a year, doesnt exactly last for one sol year. More like 2 sol years. In that rate.. good luck in gett
