Should I be seeing my ship loadout on Inara?
No. Inara doesn’t currently have support for syncing ship loadouts.
You can do it manually for your current ship by clicking on the ship name in EDMC to take you to your ship loadout in EDShipyard, exporting from EDShipyard, editing your ship in Inara and importing the loadout.

Hi there,

EDMC keeps censoring my ship name, it's the "Scopuli" but EDMC writes it out as S*****i.

I personally don't see anything wrong with this word, see:
Scopuli - http://expanse.wikia.com/wiki/Scopuli
Sirenum scopuli - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirenum_scopuli
Ultimi Scopuli - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimi_Scopuli

I wouldn't mind so much if it weren't for the fact that EDMC syncs with Inara and thus keeps changing my ship name. :p
ED doesn't censor the ship name.

What would be causing this? Any way around it, outside of changing my ship name?

Thanks. :)

It's not EDMC, it is Frontier. EDMC is only reading what is in the Journals. Open a ticket with FD to find out why they are censoring your ships name. EDMC does nothing but read the journals.

I'd assumed it was something like that, but I initially dismissed it because the ship name isn't censored in the game.
I see in my Journal, the object's value for ShipName is S*****i.

I'll send Frontier a message; thanks. :)

Its never censored for YOU. But others would see it censored if it was in fact censored.

I'm having a strange (minor) problem with a ship in my EDSM Fleet. https://www.edsm.net/en/user/fleet/id/8805/cmdr/Klutz
I'm using EDMC and my outfitting links and my fuel level are being updated correctly but my cargo is wrong and won't update no matter what I try.
My hold is empty and has been for days but my ship still shows 1 ton of cargo.

My dashboard inventory is updating correctly and shows when I have cargo and when I'm empty, it's just the fleet page that's wrong.
Could it be a data corruption from syncing from ED Discovery and EDMC on different occasions?
If I delete the ship, will it come back automatically the next time I sync?

Update: Ignore. It appears to be an EDSM issue. On their ToDo list.

Do you have a paypal link for users to donate to support development? I've been using the software for some time and find it invaluable.
I'd like to contribute to help keep the development going. I looked on GitHub and in the software but didn't find a donate link. Thanks.
Does EDMC have a Discord channel?

I've been running the EDMC for a while now and since 15 Jan 2018, I get a error message at the bottom of the widget: Error: Frontier Server is Down. It hasn't down any update to any logs in INARA since. I have found a work around to manually import but the auto update feature was really nice. Any idea on what it could be? I have made sure the the API key is correct. Thanks for any advice o7

I've used this app reliably for quite some time, but a few months ago I started getting permissions errors. I have no idea what's causing them or how to rectify them.

[Errno 13] Permission denied: u'C:\\Users\\Matt\\Documents\\Python.2018-01-34T19.48.45.txt'

It's clearly trying to create that file, but says it doesn't have permission. But it does. Anyone else experience this or can help me work around it? I'd love to keep using it.

Thanks!

Open Beta (Jan 2018) interaction?

I'm an active EDDB/EDMC user.

Is there a seperate eddb instance for the beta, and does edmc use it?

If not - what happens when I play open beta?
  • Will edmc recognize that and do no updates?
  • Will edmc feed false (aka beta universe) information into eddb?
  • Will other eddb / edmc functions (like ship info etc) work separately for the beta?

In other words; will using emdc do damage? Will using edmc be any good at all?

In beta EDMC sends updates to eddb and other sites via EDDN using a test schema, which eddb and other sites skip. So this is harmless.
EDSM and Inara integration is disabled in order to not mess up your flight log and profiles on those sites.
The only useful feature (other than testing for developers) is ship loadout and EDShipyard/Coriolis links.
