I watch all Montoya's videos.

I dunno how you can - I managed one. Now all I see/hear is a geekbro version of this

I think he was saying "report it to CIG, because it's a known bug".

I watch all Montoya's videos. I don't need to agree with his horribly partisan narrative to see he is a fine persuader and communicator. Everyone that good at stirring the pitchfork-wielding masses against the alleged minorities who insist on thinking for themselves needs to be watched carefully.

as usual I didn't understand anything.

Funny thing about Montoya is, that on his own way, he has talent on screen. Make no mistake, I also find his style irritating, but he'd make a great politician: no substance, but efficient in performing simple message transmission.
What a waste (for him) to spend his screen time on SC. :)

Yeah talented man certainly and also have that special"technique"that somehow make citizens believe in their dreams......

Looks a bit like Derek Smart in that picture.

Nah, he has no time for that right now, he is too busy being laughed out of SA right now. This quote from his kinda filled the lulzbucket for many:

Life's too short, and I don't have time to be having Internet arguments with someone who desperately seeks attention and acceptance lest he slink back to obscurity and nobody notices.

[haha]

That's funny :D

It's been one month after the premature disaster launch of 3.0. Ignoring that most of what 3.0 was supposed to be was pushed to 3.1, it is simply unacceptable on all levels that nothing has been done about it. That there is no visible effort to address it. You may say; 3.1 will fix it. And I say; when? This should have been fixed yesterday. And why should I believe that 3.1 will help? They have never delivered in the past. Not one single deadline has ever been met. And most releases have been lacking compared to what they said they would have. So why is 3.1 any different?

I was patient when they missed the original November 2014 release date. I thought it was too optimistic from the start. I was patient when Squadron 42 Episode 1 failed to materialize. I was patient when 2.0 released full of bugs and with nearly no content, thinking they would deliver on their promises for monthly updates. I was patient when Star Marine failed to materialize, thinking it was just a testing module. I was patient when 3.0 was delayed for weeks, then months, then more months, and then a whole year. They said it was almost nearly done in December of 2016. Yet they talked about just having started developing basic features for it in October of 2017. How can both be true? They were blowing smoke up my for an entire year. So why should I believe anything they say now? I don't want to hear any more lies. My patience has run out. I want action now.

You give people for calling it a scam but that's exactly what it looks like. Give me one good reason not to pursue a refund.

Naah - he's merely trying to help Gupta find his lost glasses :D

I've got some free time today, so I'm going to actually attempt to patch SC, have a look at some of the changes, measure a bit of performance, and keep a spare lulzbucket handy just in case :D

So far - an 11Gb base load (SC had refused to recognize it's own installation - again!!!) about 2Gb of something unclear, and now another 26Gb on it's way.

So many fidels must be crammed in there, I can't wait!

Heh, interesting to see G0RF thinks the same as me, that the next cash cow is player housing.

There are probably artists and modelers at CIG LA and elsewhere working up the next great monetizable pixeldream - player housing. Hideouts for pirates, mansions for the 890 Jump types, and a wide variety in between. Chris can’t grow the revenues outward right now — the market too small and brand damage to dire. But he can count on the Errises and Mikus and other Concierge Level whales, even if they’re cash strapped, to be ready, willing and eager to buy themselves a little plot of land, a place to park their ship, a dwelling to call home.

I assume Chris will ape Garriott’s model shamelessly and squeeze even more oil out of the super whales. Structures don’t have to deal with physics grids and flight models yet can command prices commensurate with ships. A little hideout might be $50 (plus your protection racket land claim fee). A full scale, multiroom luxury villa with the works and a view might be $1000.

However he does it, Chris will squeeze the whales as hard as he can until they can get Squadron to a releasable state. It’s a tall order that hasn’t had any urgency after the cessation of work in early 2016 but it’s clearly the front burner for Chris again. He sees that as a windfall that buys them the more time to try to figure out all the stuff they ignored for five years. You know, the Game part.

He's got a point. Roberts claimed that it would have only taken a few more weeks to polish up 3.0 to an acceptable level of performance and quality, but instead they pushed it out before their company holiday as a one-time courtesy to the players, or whatever the excuse was. Well, they've had "a few more weeks" since they came back, so presumably the new 3.0.1 has addressed all those bugs and performance problems, and everything is back on track, right?

I don't think they even put that much effort into their new monetisation schemes any more. It used to be flashy cinematic ads for the latest chariot jpeg, now they seem to be content with half an hour spent typing up a webpage full of empty promises and technical debt, with a couple of cheap and cheerful static images thrown together in ms paint.

Cos you gotta have faithtrust? I don't know anymore. What does it even do that involves that? Is this another shell company that's totally not laundering anything?

I have absolutely no idea. That domain was registered back in 2007 and expires in 2021. Maybe it's something to do with a deal about using a name someone else owns - Star Citizen the Game can use the name as long as they promote Star Citizen the Toaster Seller. It's just all a bit weird.

So erm. What?! *scratches head* Why is a certificate needed with that referenced?

Does nothing about this game stink of weirdness?
