Feeling a [small] sense of loss.

Bought and equipped my first Python yesterday. Sold the type-6. The Type-6 can't do anything the Python can't do better but still, it was my first "real" ship. Sidewinder, hauler, type-6...there may have been a Cobra in there. Can't remember. Anaconda is next. Looonnngg ways away.....

Type 6 will out jump the python every time and out sprint it

Python is slow and fat. It does lots of things but isn't particularly good at anything. The Anaconda is even worse, it turns like a fridge on trolley wheels

I hear you TS. I never sell ships anymore. I always want to fly them again later. 1000 plus hours in and with 8 billion in assets and my diamondback explorer still gets a lot of use.

Was that Gandhi?
Yes and she was drunk.

I flew a T-6; once.

I get what you say about missing ships and these days; I don't sell any; outside of betas and it is nice to jump into some of them, now and again. But they mostly just gather dust, while I play with my Cobras.

I refuse to ever sell a ship for just that reason, OP (except for taxi ships back in the day). I still have every stepping stone in my career, even my old Sidey. I still take my old Viper mk.III out for a spin every now and then.

Must admit, I was kind of sorry to see my T6 go when I traded it for an Asp, as it saw me through most of the rookie period in the game apart from a brief flirtation with the Cobra.

I went from Type 6 to Clipper... didn't miss the Type 6 at all.

The only problem was no access to medium pads but it was waaay more fun to fly.

The Python is an amazing ship. I went from Sidey to Cobra. Flew that for a year, then a Python and flew that for the next year. It was great. Lots of good memories. I did my 5k journey to unlocking Palin in her and found several new worlds that I got my name on. I just turned her in for an Anaconda a couple months ago. It's a different ship for sure. I miss the Python, but I'm liking having a crewman and an SLF now. It's a whole new progression.

I'm a one ship pilot. I get attached to my ship. I feel ya, there is a sense of loss. The only one I return to is my Cobra III. I still think it's the best ship in the game.

[It] isn't particularly good at anything.
The Python is the greatest ship in the game. Even after its nerf in 1.2 it's still totally OP - up to 240t into outposts, good turning circle, respectable mass lock factor. It's the mission runner par excellence, and there's nothing that can touch it in its (rather large) niche.

If I were to venture a criticism of it, it would be simply that it's a bit boring, but compared to the T6, it's positively scintillating.

Python is great for NPC piracy, and players too if the opportunity presents itself.

It also makes for an excellent BgS ship - it can stack up data / cargo / smuggle / pirate missions very nicely.

The python is pretty handy for combat too. Mine will last in a hazres for ages (till i need more ammo). I prefer to use it than my Conda or Vette for combat. Mildly over engineered of course ;)
